Finally! I'm typing on the c-brat site. DaNag - Thanks for the help!
The reason Catman is a maybe for the 12/13 cruise is because of my company's holiday party the night before. We have to be the last to leave because I'm the company party planner which means it will be late, late, late . And, hopefully, we limit the . But you know how that goes...
We are staying downtown after the party so we won't be stirring early enough to depart with the group (unless you are leaving around 1pm). We can meet you at Chinook's for lunch (1pm) and maybe the can hitch a ride to Coulon with someone and I'll pick him up when the cruising is finished.

cb- It would be our pleasure to transport the Catman to Coulon Park-or anywhere else for that matter. _________________ MartyP

Hey! That is a lucky critter. Let's see, now, maybe some kind of fish for lunch, perhaps?
And I'd be happy to take Miss Mirth up on an offer like that. Count me in, and remember, I'm the kind of cat that doesn't move around a lot. Sit me right down with some nip, and trim tabs can take the day off. |

Brock,
I would have offered to give you a ride after lunch also, but I'll be launching at Magnuson Park and it would be a long swim for you from Magnuson to Coulan.
Who knows, if someone buys our 16' between now and then, I may have to swim the whole way on that cruise! |

Thanks, Dave. By the way, some lucky someone is going to get a deluxe 16 footer when they land your rig. |

Well, Daydream survived Windstorm 2003, and we will be there on the 13th, but it was a close thing. Tucked away neatly inside the GI Joe 11' x 25' portable garage, the poles nicely braced - I thought were set to ride it out. But NOTHING made from plastic tarp stands up to 75 mph winds like we had last night and today. This morning was very trying. First the wind just lifted the 8 poles off the 4x6s, pulling the lag bolts out, then the poles just folded up. Austin and Patty struggled to hold the poles in some semblance of upright, while I frantically hooked up and pulled Daydream out. Then this wonderful portable garage just collapsed. I thought we were okay with it crumpled up on the ground, but the NEXT gust billowed it out and it took off like a bat out of hell, headed right for - the next door neighbor's Hummer. Fortunately, it caught on our apple tree (5 feet short of the Hummer) and I was able to attack it with a serated knife, and get all the plastic off the poles...I guess all is well that ends well, but I can only imagine the damage if we had not got down there when we did to extract the boat... _________________

Pat -
Every once in a while, I can see a little humor in one of your tales of troubles, but not this time. Not funny at all. Good to hear things stopped so far short of terrible. Man, oh man - it could have been ugly. Kind of makes you miss CA, doesn't it? _________________ TyBoo Mike

Pat, Patty and Austin,
Glad that Daydream survived unscathed in the face of 75 MPH winds. (Another testament to the toughness of C-Dory boats!). Sorry about your GI-J garage. That storm was quite geographically selective around here. Actually very little wind in Arlington, but Lake Stevens was hit fairly hard, but nothing like the way you folks were hit. They say we're supposed to be hit again on Saturday. All this weather this weekend should make it clear, calm and sunny for the Lk. Washington/Lake Union cruise on the 13th.

I'm counting on it! And MAN have we had the weather...the power has been out all around Snoqualmie Valley, on here but still out in downtown Fall City. PSE tells us it will be multiple days before they are fully operational after Windstorm 2**3 DaveS wrote: | Pat, Patty and Austin,

Glad no one was hurt, and that Daydream is sleeping soundly about now. And a mangled Hummer would have been a bummer. Does its owner look like California's governor? |

The Weather Lady on TV just pictured a huge SUN on her weather picture for next Sat. the 13th. With a high temperature of 45 degrees. It sounds great to me!
What time is everyone going to launch? I was thinking around daybreak, so there is plenty of time to cruise, meet Mr. and Mrs. Catman for lunch, bring CM back and be out of the water before darkness sets in.
I'm planning on launching at Magnuson Park, then I suppose we can hail each other on the VHF to establish a meeting area. |

Its owner is a dentist (remember Steve Martin singing "I'm a Dentist" in Little Shop of Horrors?) Looks nothing like Ah-nold and can actually pronounce Call-ee-for-knee-ah...
It must have been comical to behold as an objective observer, but there was no humor in it while it was happening, I can tell you that FOR SURE!
