Anyone interested in cruising from Seneca Lake (a finger lake in New York) north up the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, east on the Erie, north up the Oswego Canal, into Lake Ontario, east on the Lake to the Thousand Islands, then north up the Rideau Canal to Ottawa, down the Ottawa River to the St Lawrence at Montreal, then down St. Lawrence to Sorel, into Richileau Canal and south to Lake Champlain, then down the Champlain Canal to the Hudson, then westerly in the Erie Canal and back to the starting point??
Should be nice and cool, perfectly glorious fall colors, few people, lots of dock space and hopefully a marvelous fall cruise. Anyone? We figure on starting out next Wednesday from Seneca Lake. _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)

Wow Bill,
That is a great cruise itinerary for the Fall. Funny how great minds think alike. I was thinking that would be a great Autumn Little Loop cruise. Unfortunately we won't be able to make it. However, if you have the chance to update the site as to where you are, maybe we could catch up with ya for the piece on the Champlain Canal and/or Hudson river. I'll be looking forward to seeing your write up on this cruise, because I'd like to duplicate it.

Bill and El, sure wish we could go but I've still got this work thing in the way. Someday>>>>>>
Made arrangements to receive your engine at the Honda Dealer here yesterday, no problems at all, will let you know when it arrives.
How do the new ones run? Probably just like the old ones....

In response to Rick's suggestion, we'll post a general update periodically about our "Le Gran Circuit Nautique" (as they call it in Quebec) or the Triangle Route (as we hear it called in NY). Our new engines are working fine, finished the 20-hour break-in along the canals, had them serviced today, and tomorrow we launch at Seneca Lake and head northerly on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, then easterly on the Erie, then northerly again to Oswego on the Oswego Canal. Weather marvelous along the canal today with fall color just beginning and crystal clear. |
