Ken, Congrats, and take a breath, It's on the way and if you don't breath it won't make any difference how long or short it takes to get there Laughing

Who is hauling it down for you?

How cool. And the factory put the trim tabs on already.

Enjoy the commissioning, one step at a time.

I am trying to focus on the present. It's not easy however, I was always the kid that drove everyone crazy at Christmas.

Mobile East Marine arranged the hauling.

I'll start a thread and take a bunch of pics before I put her in the water.

Cleaned the water tank site tube. Thought I could use a .30 cal rifle cleaning rod--too tight, and got it stuck.. Had to relieve the suction, and got it back out! Then went to .22 rod, with plastic slotted appliance for the patch. Dipped the patch in non splash Chlorox (more viscous). swabbed once down to water level.. Then ran a patch down to the water level and back. Then 3 dry patches--tube looks like new! Clear and no dark algae like spots. Then filled the tank half full, put in about 3 oz chlorox pulled to pumps (I have both the foot Whale pump which came with the boat, and in series, I have an electric in line Jabsco pump with monetary switch.

Also finished the project to redo the starboard step over the bilge pump, just inside the cabin bulkhead. I made a support contoured to the inside of the bulkhead, and attached it with 5200 (held in place with hot glue while the 5200 set up over 5 days. The support was to keep the middle of the starboard from flexing when it was stepped on. I had to extend it about an inch--so epoxied another 1" x 1" piece of wood. Back filled the area between this support ant the bulkhead with J B Weld "Kwick"--and put the step back in place. The screw holes for the screws holding the starboard and stripped out thru the years, so I filled the holes with toothpicks (4 pieces per round birch toothpick, set in epoxy. After the epoxy was almost set up--shaved the ends off. Then drilled the pilot holes, and put the step in place, with the screws to hold it in place.

Also made a new bracket for one of the Stereo speakers which are in the forward corners above the windshield, out of 1 1/2" x 1/8" aluminum stock, and re-installed the speakers. The old ones had fatigued and broke probably from road vibration.

Started the engine--fired on first turn of the key--after priming--Oil had been changed before winterizing. I have a poly fine mesh bag, for diagonal cutters, long nose pliers, fish hook degougers, wire leader crimpers etc, which had suction cups--keeps slipping--drilled holes in middle of suction cups and screwed this bag under steering wheel, so items are always immediately available. Tomorrow putting cleats just inside of the combings to secure bow and stern lines' when underway, plus use for temporary stern line until fully secured. Other clean up for Hontoon gathering--only a little over a week before we leave--and back on the water!

We've had a great streak of warm weather here in Southern Wisconsin this past week! However, our local lakes are still iced in, so best I could do was dream about the upcoming C-Brat gatherings on the St. John's River and California Delta, and to pull the boat out of storage (my back yard lol), run the motor to blow out the fogging oil and make sure it was good to go, and to pack what I could now for the first gathering in Florida. (Food and water will get packed the day we leave...) Now back to our regularly scheduled weather of cold and wintry crap like rain, sleet, ice and snow! Colby

Howdy,

Good to see you on the site. I was wondering if you were still around. Glad you are getting the boat exercised. Hope we get a chance to cross wakes somewhere down the calendar this season.

Weather in Southern California has kept us out of the water for most of the past two months. I finally got in the water yesterday but paid the price for it. We surfaced to find the swells had doubled in size, wind had picked up and the rain predicted for 4:00 arrived at 9:30. At least I didn't have to rinse the boat much when we got back in. I managed to get a few photos during our submergence.

Delonovolva aequalis, Simnia snail

Paguristes ulreyi, Furry hermit crab

Flabellina trilineata

Muricea californica, Golden gorgonian

Lophogorgia chilensis, Red Gorgonian
