Boy am I glad Mike has some sort of boat project going. I was afraid he'd be home with nothing to gizmoize and not even get a call to go in and work. If that were to happen he might have to start doing stuff to that new truck or dog.

My big project was getting the new tags on the boat and cleaning the razor clams we dug last night. This time I did it a little later in the morning than I sometimes do.

Fortunately, there was a guy selling flowers alongside the road just before I got home. So, Kay let me in! Got a whole bunch, and only spent $108 dollars, plus my 90 WM bucks.

Hey Mike,

If you're busy working on your boat then you don't have any time to shop for stuff...see, I was trying to help you out! Shocked

Let's see...there's a cruise around Lake Washington, Lake Union and the Ship Canal and wherever else they head off to on December 13th...that'd be a swell time to pick up a boat, doncha think? Confused

I think the trip up for the boat will be a quick forth and back. Too many things going on. And keep in mind, Les, I'm not rushing you at all on the boat, nor complaining. If it wasn't for that, I would just find something else to whine about. Now Dave and Bill, on the other hand(s), might be a little more antsy when you get your hands on their boats!

Oh, and maybe Dusty better run out and check for a big hole in the bow. My dad said he ordered that windlass online, but you never know.

Very Happy OK, so here's what we did on Miss Mirth today. Marty, Dotty, and Joe had a big adventure while Anne and Lizzy stayed home. We put in in Everett -- where we met for the Snohomish trip -- and went south about 20 miles. Our destination was the north end of fishing area 10. We tried out our new crab pots for the first time and came home with 9 red crabs. This was our first trip on Puget Sound by ourselves, and it was a great day. We posted pictures here on the Miss Mirth album.

What a fun time. We saw another C-dory or two out as well. Very Happy

Looking forward to more fun with the club soon.

Mike,
If Les get's Tyboo done so it would be ready for you on the 13th, you could maybe run up, drop it in at Lake Washington ,cruise it around with us for a while and make it back in good time. Speaking for us ,I plan to be out of the water before dark, which makes it around 5 or so. And you will already be about 1 1/2 hrs closer to Warrenton.
Gee ,if we go through the lock we,gotta fill it up with as many C-Dory's as we can to keep the off-brands out. Your Cruise Ship might be the difference. Dont' let us put any pressure on ya... heheheh.
Jim

JoeP -

What brave souls! It's good to hear of your great day. Watch them red crabs, though, they're mean, fast and strong!

Thanks for the tale and the pictures!

As for the TyBoo25, I heard a rumor that it may be as soon as next weekend! Whenever it is, I am afraid the trip up and back will be a quick shot. Lots of things going on, and lots of things to do to get the boat ready for adventures.

Kay says she won't be going along when I go after the boat (grandma Christmas duties, and all). I have started trying to talk my dad into riding along, so we'll see how that goes. It would be cool. Him and Dusty could hang out. Dad don't hear so good, so it might be quite a shouting match. He hasn't even seen the TyBoo25 yet, and he likes the new truck, so I hope he goes for it.

Had a great day yesterday. While Kathy and the girls and Granny were soaking up some culture at a children's production of the Nutcracker ballet, I took Piper (yellow lab) out on the Otter. It was blowing WNW at 20 with gusts to 35 on the Potomac. We surfed south for a ways and beat slowly into the waves where the river turned west. Lots of spray crashing against the windshield, which always gives me a good feeling warm and snug in the weatherly Otter's wheelhouse. Beached it on a sandy bank and hiked around for a bit. Piper found some good smelly stuff to roll in and I watched gulls, ducks, and geese trying to keep warm along a lee shore. Was out for about six hours and only saw one other boat underway. Love having a boat that allows for a 12-month boating season!

Tom- A beautifully told story about a beautiful day. Here we are, you on the Potomac, me on Puget Sound over 3000 miles away, sharing our enjoyment of our C-Dorys on the water. Thanks Mike, Bill, et al for creating this site.

Yes indeedy, Tom. It sounds like you soaked up a bit of culture yourself. Nature, culture, whatever, it was good. Great reading, and thanks for thinking about us when you got home. Did you get Piper bathed before the family got back?

It sure is a great community! Yes, Mike, Piper got a hosing and a rubdown at the marina. She is still a bit ripe, but at least she can be in the same room with us.
