As many of you already know I bought this C-Dory this spring and have been working away on it. Well...I got a lead on a newer C-Dory that was on the market last fall but couldn't be sold due to the death of the owner. I ended up buying it from the estate two days ago. So now I have two C-Dorys but only need one. I am just trying to get my investment back out of the 1986, I bought it for a really good price and I intend to sell it for what I have into it.

1986 C-Dory Angler
-No motor or controls (it had an old 90hp Mercury previously)
-I have a brand new steering system in the box (have the old system and wheel as well)
-I have done many hours of cleaning and repairs. Depending on what you want there is still more that could be done...or you could put a motor on it and start using it.
-It has the dinette with table and a kichen cabinet.
-Trailer isn't perfect but it has new tires, bearings and lights. Made it from Florida to New York without any issues. I've towed it another 250 miles since then...seems to tow really well.
-There are two issues that I have come across. First the plywood on the back wall of the pilothouse has some rot. This is just plywood (no fiberglass) so it should be a fairly east project if you want to fix it. The second issue is that there is some rotten wood inside the transom. I actually towed it two hours away to a well known fiberglass shop to get the transom done. The owner looked it over and told me it doesn't need a transom. The transom doesn't flex at all (tried with old motor up) and doesn't have any cracks. However, the wood inside the transon near the bolt holes for the motor is soft. So, judge for yourself. My plan was to put a motor on it and use it until the transom started to show signs of fatigue. As a side note--it looks like you can do a transom yourself for about $1,000 or pay someone about $3,000 to do it.

I plan to epoxy all holes in the transom in the next few days.

First $6,900 takes it home!
