|
|
I researched and posted a while back about bleeding a seastar helm system with a Hynautic K-13 cylinder. I noticed my Auto-pilot wasn't working and I belive its due to low fluid in the system (helm reservior is low). I must have a leak, but need to fill the system and operate to locate it.
Here is the issue now. On the K-13 there are 2 bleeder screws that are small allen bolts which would make a huge mess and also make it difficult to tell when the air has been purged. Also it doesn't allow you to capture any expensive seastar hydraulic fluid. I purchased these bleeder fittings as they are for a front mount cyilnder, but they are the wrong size.

I also have since found these instructions online.

Has anyone done a proper bleed by loosening the allen bolt fittings? Any help on properly completing this job would be appreciated.

A closer look at the helm pump and it is a Hydraflex LD25 |
