Lake Powell 2016

We are planning to be at Oak Canyon on Oct 1st. After reading through the posts on this topic, I see others have made plans. Just wondering how many are still committed to the get together? Scott

Things have worked out where I am able head to Powell this Tuesday, September 6th for 8 days until September 13th. I will launch from Halls Crossing and make my way south to where ever I end up each day.

I am also planning on returning to Powell September 28th and being at Oak Canyon on Saturday, October 1st.

It is not to late for a sign up sheet. Maybe the moderators can add one if they read these posts.

Maybe the reason this worked out differently is that for years we had the same cruise leader/organizer, but this year it's a bit more informal, and it wasn't until later in the thread that we all settled on the date of Oct 1.

Not that we couldn't start a sign up sheet now, but maybe that's why there isn't one so far. Also, I think even with one, Powell is the kind of place where lots of folks will be on the lake before or after the gathering, and will be there, but might not "officially" sign up. At any rate, I can't imagine there won't be a gang. I'm hoping to be there.

Those pics are just what I needed to see this morning Thumbs Up

I'll be back at my boat in a couple of days, and then have some projects to accomplish before I can launch. Number one is that last time I was at the boat I started the process of re-wiring the rat's nest behind the helm, plus moving the house battery and re-doing that wiring better now that I know more about wiring (last time someone else did it for me). I've got most of the big wiring cut/labeled/and terminated, so mostly need to do the arrangement behind the helm, and finish up the battery platform/hold down.

Number two is that due to an injury some time has passed since I was last able to use the boat, so even though I had Stabil etc. in the fuel, I want to drain the tanks and start fresh, rather than run the old fuel through.

And then of course a bunch of "little" things, but those two are the main ones (wiring and fuel being somewhat non-negotiable Laughing

).

This'll also be my first pull since I re-did all the trailer bearings/brakes/hubs/coupler/wiring (so in other words the frame is still the same Mr. Green

).

So I've been feeling a bit daunted (I imagine that will change once I'm actually there and working on things) and your pics were JUST what I needed to remember that there is a wonderful reward for tackling these things. Powell and seeing other Brats and their "C's"!

I don't know, but if I remember correctly, he had retired, moved, and was building a house. Not that any of those three could keep a guy busy... Mr. Green

Sure would be nice if he were coming to Powell Thumbs Up

He really has a way with introducing new folks to the lake (which I benefitted from greatly). Of course many C-Brats have a lot of Powell experience, and are happy to share.

Diane and I plan to be at Lake Powell a day or two before Oct 1. We'll launch at Wahweap and proceed up the lake.
