Looking for ideas for painting the interior wood. Types of paint? Hot tips?
The wood is faded and worn and needs a facelift.
It's all been removed and lightly sanded.

I still find that good old fashioned oil base paint is so much more resilient, better looking and smoother than latex. As a result it cleans up better and does not come off as easily, so it lasts a lot longer. Of course, it's a PIA to paint and clean up the tools. But now it's all I use on all our millwork.

I agree with localboy that oil-base paint is the best for this application. In my experience, there's not much difference in cleanup between water-based and oil-based except for the VOCs. I seem to have better results cleaning up oil-based, but then, everyone's different.

Sikkens Cetol Marine. I used this for both inside and outside marine woodwork. It's made for marine use, looks good, and does a good job protecting the wood. Colby
