Good link Joe. I was shocked when I saw a FS ad for a CD 30 footer! The broker did a piss poor job of advertising the boat though; there's absolutely ZERO info on the rig. What kind of an ad is that?? LOL

There you go, just got the 19 home and you are looking for a bigger boat! :o I don't know if you clicked on the "View Full Specifications". It will give you a little more info--but only lists one engine, no hours, no specifics. Since the boat is not really trailerable, they figure that anyone who wants one will come to see it, or at least call/e-mail. Not your every day Tom Cat.

Armstrong is a builder of high quality aluminum boats (including some really nice cats), My guess they took it in as a trade on a new or used boat.

I love the 30--but more so the one "Cruiser" model which I have seen. (I saw the photos I took of it just a few days ago when culling my photo files).

The major problem--is that the beam is 10'6" (the "rule" is that a cat should have the beam at least 1/3 the length--because of water dynamics between the two hulls. For some reason I had the impression that to trailer you were going to be close to 12 feet--and may well be wrong on that. In any case--even 10'6" requires a special wide load permit--signs, and probably flashing lights in most states.

That price seems a bit steep, but as you say we don't have a lot of information--and the engines could be low hours--good electronics etc...

The hulls have higher tunnel height, and thus less of the issues that the Tom Cat 255 has, with tunnel slap, and drag at low speeds. I personally think the 30 is a great boat. Some of our members have fished on them, and I believe even run them in AK.

Thanks for the find!

Bob
Do you have photos of the 30' Cruiser Tomcat.

Been curious about that layout for some time, but never seen one in person or in photos.

I agree with South of Haven, poor add. It touts "Total Power - 150 HP", but the photos show twin 150s.

Sure looks like a great boat for the right family. Much bigger than I want!

I've done some time on that boat, I wish I had the funds to buy it and park it on the river but I could afford the divorce lawyer. I don't have any pics of the interior, It has a bench seat down each side with a counter top/work area in the port, rear corner and a crapatorium on the starboard side. The boat sat in a barn, unused, for most of it's years.
I hope it was traded off for a new Armstrong Cat with my name on it Smile

I checked my current computer and although I have photos of our AK trip, I don't seem to have saved those of the Black Feather 30 cruser/trunk cabin.

On the Black feather Facebook page, there are photos the "Trunk Cabin Cruiser. Go straight down the right column of the page, and on Feb 28 2002 are about 24 photos of the cruiser. If one were custom made, one could have a queen in the forward cabin, plus a lot more.

From there all you have to do is to use the forward and back arrows to see all of their photos of both interior and exterior.

If you put the bunk athwartship, (might be even room for an Island Queen), with the raised deck forward, you should be able to get a head/shower with head room in one of the hulls. A great having locker in the other. That would then give much more room for the galley in the pilot house. Some pilot house boats even offset the house to one side which could be done with the Tom Cat 30--giving it more than a foot more width in the pilothouse.

Hello, all! Wanted to let you know that the 1990 30' C-Dory linked above is still available. The listing has been updated, and the price was just reduced to 124,900. The boat was in fact a trade-in for a client that purchased a new Armstrong Marine CAT. Please feel free to share the listing, and thanks for your interest!
