Just an observation: There is an online article in Boat US Magazine that states that real gasoline will be almost unattainable next year as EPA guidelines give ethanol an almost 100% share of the market. Remember, big brother says it's for your own good.

Maybe a change in administration is what we need to stop the lunacy!

They were talking about upping the percent of ethanol even more, what happened to the good old days? Common sense doesn't matter, they do what they want to,we don't seem to be heard.

Non ethanol is available where I live at a number of places. I have never put a drop of anything but this in my motors. It cost more, but worth it.

The article seems to be some speculation--in that there is a certain amount of ethanol, required to be used rather than a %. Gas sales are down (? result of better fuel mileage)--I had read that the average car was driving more because of cheaper gas (?).

There is a "new" (about a year old now) gas station in Pensacola where every pump has E 0 fuel.

On the other hand, corn prices are way down--so I guess I should encourage you all to buy the corn fuel, even though I hate it!. Got to pay the farm bills!

They need to divert the corn to high fructose corn syrup rather the ethanol to mix with gasoline. Plenty of demand for that!

Hey guys the truth of the matter on ethanol as boat fuel is a matter of how long you let it sit. Before my Sea Dory I owned a 13 ft center consol Boston Whaler with a 50 Honda, I only ran ethanol for two years with no problem. I never let a tank sit for more than two weeks. Each year I changed my fuel filter as well. Here in central Fl its $2.00 ethanol versis $4.00 marine and that sure as hell adds up. A friend of mine who races boats got me to change my mind on this when he took me out and I offered to pay for his fuel. He said Cliff no problem I'm running ethanol and its no problem because I do not leave fuel in this boat. He is far more critical than any of us on this subject, his boat was like a space craft.
With a 200 Johnson we got up to 90mph, scared the hell out of me, all of his controls were on the stearing weel. So I'm just sharing a view from lifes experiences, you know you could get that fuel additive if you needed to let it sit, I do that with my lawn tractor fuel.

I see two problems; #1 -emptying a 150 gallon fuel tank after every use is not a reasonable solution for me, politically correct maybe...but not realistic, and #2, some of us can't use our boats every two weeks, especially in the winter months.

Also, the use of additives does not keep water from combining with ethanol and settling to the bottom of the tank, but rather slows the inevitable 'phasing' process. FWIW- I recently purchased a new Stihl chainsaw and the service manager was adamant that I "never-ever put ethanol fuel in the saw"

I guess fattening cattle on corn and fueling with petroleum just didn't work. Why do we have to "live with" ethanol when gasoline is preferable? What has changed? It's called BIG CORN. But again, it's for the good of the people.

I use the Pure Gas app on my smartphone to find nonethanol gas. Seems to be accurate in my neck of the woods (Lithia, FL). I found 3-4 places within 10 miles of home.

Here's the link for web version.

We went up to Lake Tellico for a Month a few years back and I filled the boat up with 89 octane fuel (10% e) knowing that we would use that fuel up and then some .We tubed ,explored and cruised almost every day. When we are back in SW Florida not using the boat every day then I use only non-ethanol fuel . The problem is the ethanol fuel can have phase separation causing water in your tank .I'm not a chemist but I know it happens . It will be a real pain if we cannot get non -ethanol fuel it could mean we have to start using our boats every day .YES DEAR I NEED TO TAKE THE BOAT OUT TODAY

BTW I use non -ethanol in my lawn mower, chainsaw, and any other small gas motor just to be safe . That pure gas app would be a good thing to have thanks Jim
