I'm curious if anyone has an actual weight on their 22 C-dory Cruiser on a scale? I know that the manufacturers say it can be 3500lbs dry with the trailer but what is realistic? I have a ford explorer sport trac rated for 5,000 lbs but I'm getting nervous about it's ability to tow a cruiser? |

On a return trip fro Lake Powell we took "Naknek" by a truck scale and had it weighed. On the trailer, and unhooked from the truck it came in at 4950#.
As I recall that was with approximately half-tanks and water, plus all of our persoal "stuff" from a week on the lake.
The manufacturer said the two-axle trailer is 1100# so the math is pretty easy.
At the time we pulled the outfit with a GMC half-ton (350 engine and 3.77 axle). Worked Very well.

THe c-dory site shows one with radar on it so I'm assuming it's not striped, on a trailer with fuel and water and claims the boat wieghs 2400 lbs. The trailer I'm buying is 1100 lbs so combined that's 3,500 lbs. I figure I have around 1000 lbs left to safely pull it which isn't leaving much margin but I guess we'll see. |

I weighed mine on a BC Dept of Highways scale and it comes out pretty close to know weights.
Boat, net 863kg
Yamaha 100hp 168kg
Yamaha 9.9hp 45kg
Fuel, 219 ltr 158kg
Water, 20gal 72kg
Gross weight 1306kg
Trailer Ezloader model – 5-TEZL96R 17-20/22 4
Boat gross of 1306kg + mfg indicated shipping wt of trailer of 454kg = 1760kg (3872 lbs)
Scaled on 9 Jul 05 (boat on trailer), no water and about half fuel load.
Trailer alone, level (jack not on scale) 1730kg
I tow with a ''99 Chev half ton with small V8.

I can get an aluminum trailer from ez-loader that weighs around 260lbs less than the king trailer. I'm wondering if it's worth going for that one to save the weight? There's a backlog of 3-6 weeks though. |

Hi Flapbreaker,if I was you I would shop around before buying an EZ, Loader. I own one 2005 ,4000 pounds tamden ,led, oil bath axles, for about 2 months. Got raid of it order a new welded trailer build by Road Runner awsome trailer but this time I order it without oil baths, no LED,an galvanize fenders no more cheap plastic fenders like EZ LOADER. My reason to do that was this new 2005 EZ LOADER had to be the worst trailer I ever own. Oil bath leaks, one axle was bend, LED lights, I lost one port brake light on my second trip to the ramp, light bar follow a week later.Every time you back up or leave the driveway it made all kind of funny noises. You needed two person to unpin the stupid thing, you had to jerk the truck back an forth many times before your helper could release the lock that was no fun spatially when I was by myself , an also the rear backing lever never work from day one..... An last the sticker name on both side of the fenders was spelled wrong ? Gary SEA RAM |

Our weight when we had our 22 was similar to Sailor D's.
3850 lbs . on the truck scale at Federal Way,WA... it was loaded up wih gear, fuel, etc..
As for trailers , my opinion is that if we had the 22 to do over again it would've been on the King , instead of the E-Z.. both good trailers .. but like the way the 22's sit on the Kings.our 25 sits on a King...
We pulled out 22 with a Dodge Dakota 4X4. 4.3 V-8, auto. _________________ Commodore Jim & Adm. Laurie

I tend to agree with the other posts on Ezloader trailers. It was very difficut to adjust bunks and winch to boat etc, dealer didn't seem too knowledgeable or helpful, quality was so so. If I had to do it again I don't think Ezloader would even make my short list. Time will tell on the oil-bath bearings.

That's RETURNING from Astoria with light fuel, water, and ice loads. Adeline always carries lots of extra junk that I think I MIGHT use(but never have). _________________ Pete

my 22 sits on a king trailer and the factory is close to my house. If I have any problems I can take it to them. so far no problems. It has been a great trailer and handles really nice. I tow with a ford ranger with the 4.o v-six and 180,000 miles. it does a good job and if the wheels were the stock size it would do a better job. do get the tandam axel trailer and the brakes. I think that if it was not for the brakes then the boat would push me around while stopping. with the brakes i can't even feel the trailer. _________________ Thomas J Elliott
