Now, Dave... you, having been an avid C-Dory/Venture guy who has moved to a Ranger Tug... are you still looking?
Yeah, those Nordic Tugs are very nice cruising boats. I could happily sell the house and move aboard. For the record, the Blonde informed me that I could do that... "with your next wife."
So... it's an option! |

I had a bout of Nordicitis. I would be on one now had I not seen the merits of trailer able boats like C-Dory's and Ranger Tugs. I have noticed more and more ex C-Dory folks have been floating around in Nordics. I'm done. Our boat now will be the last oh wait a minute hold the phone. I might end up buying a center console for some fishing as I don't like fishing out of my living room. The post about the Nordic was just a sort of dreamy service announcement for the dreamers or if someone wanted a place in the keys on the cheap with low taxes. Last day of work today! More boat time now once Joaquin gets out of here.

Last day of work, as in: forever, Dave??
If so, big congratulations sent your way!
I get you on that whole Nordic Tug thing... if trailerable isn't in the equation, they are mighty desirable.
For my buddy, Tim... pretty sure the Blonde will never read this thread. I am brave when the chance of consequences is low!
I probably should have finished that whole conversation.
She said, "You can do that with your next wife."
I said, "Nah, she'd rather have a sailboat."
And that's when the fight started! |

I've found that introducing the woman I've been married to for 34 years as "my first wife" is also a good way to get into trouble! Ya' know, sometimes accuracy isn't all that matters. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

Dave, if you think this was your last day of work - the wife must still be working on her "to do" list! Congrats on being able to retire and afford a new boat while still being young enough to enjoy it.
NOW - before she gets that list finished - stop dreaming about a Nordic Tug and post some pics of the new Ranger and your Trent Severn trip!

Thanks for all the well wishes. The company was sold, all my obligations are over. I got paid my share. I'll can do an album on the Trent Severn but I felt funny no longer having a C-Dory and still lurking so much on this site. The Ranger Tugs are like your heavier slower over weight brothers I guess.

Here's to an enjoyable retirement!
I'd very much like to see photos and read narrative from your Trent Severn trip, if you feel like posting them. I bet others would too. |

Hi Dave, congrats on the new retirement. the "official" work days may be over but that does not mean you won't still be busy, ant least some of the time. Might even be busy boating. Enjoy.
As to Looking, It doesn't cost much until you find something you can't live without. Priorities can change, but enjoy what you can when you can.
Harvey

Congratulations Dave! My last day is Nov 30 but that Nordic draws a little too much for our creek. Would be no problem today though, this storm has pushed water a foot over the top of my pier! It's still 2' from the bottom of the C Dory on the lift though.

No problem Charlie; leave the boat where it is in Key West. Go south for the winter and live on it. Thank you for the retirement well wishes. I'm going to do my best to try and keep busy till dementia sets in anyway. Was that red to starboard or green?
