Hello to all,
First, my apologies for this being my first post. I have lurked here for a little while, trying to accumulate some knowledge base on C-Dorys (although, I'm more than a little bit of a slow learner...)
At 56 YOA, the wife and I are attempting to sell our home and business in Gunnison Colorado and move to the PNW (she tells me, the San Juans, but time will tell).
At any rate, in our quest for a craft, I am sending out a feeler to see if anyone out there has a C-Dory that they would consider trading for our conversion bus. The basics are it started as a 1990 Thomas Built Transitliner and served the Crested Butte Ski area until about 2000. We bought it and did the conversion after owning a GMC Motorhome and a '81 Bluebird Wanderlodge. It has Cummins 8.3L power, Allison tranny, Telma driveline retarder, propane injection, Honda genset, solar panels, Espar hydronic preheat and hot water assist and a list of other buzzers and bells. Here is a link to some pictures:

It is a long story, and a beast that was built by us. Considerably more "invested" ($50K+) than the market will bear, but unique and just right for many things.
If anyone out there has any interest in doing some trading, email me directly and we can start a dialogue.
Thanks for taking time to read my post. Great site, hope to have something of value to add to the forum from time to time.
Doug in Gunnison

I love your bus! Fantastic conversion, and suits me a lot better than most "prefab" RV's. I want to keep my 22, though. Still, I wanted to respond to say "Welcome!" and what a great conversion you made.

Thanks for the replies, compliments and welcome. As most of you know, projects take on a life of their own, and selling Thomas is a difficult endeavor, not unlike selling a c-dory that you have a "connection" with.
At any rate, happy to have found a safe harbor and glad for the replies and support.

Oh MAN!!! I lived in Crusty Butt for a bit, up until 1998. I've certainly taken many rides on this very bus, my bike or my skis riding on the bumper. It looks very cool now, much nicer than I remember, but you can't have my boat!

What a coincidence! I noticed the big wear patches on the entry step risers (in the early photos) and imagined tons of people with ski boots climbing on.

Yeah, the ski boots take a toll. Good thing those will not be allowed in our new boat!

"Welcome aboard our C-Dory. No ski boots please."
