Years ago we took charters for Big Eye ,yellow fin ,mahi ect. A few times it was real rough conditions going under bridges. Caught a 130 lb big eye tuna. Just watched show wicked tuna two boats hit bridge on there way out in the dark. One guy was a local 30 yrs expierence he hit and ripped off his stern steering wheel. The other boat hit and ripped off his pulley wheel I believe. Then when returning boat got stuck in shallow sand bar boat got turned sideways, they put on there survival suits. I remember the confused ripping current that is around that bridge, and changing sand bars. Guess best to go out when its a slack tide. Glad the captains we went with didn't have any problems. Shows that even expierenced captains sometimes run into problems. |
