Here's the shower i got: Walmart Coleman Shower. It's $10 for 5 gal, good for 2 showers.

As for the book hammock: Whitecap Gear Hammock (Defender P/N 951291) at Defenders. $7 EA + shipping.

Used both, though not at the same time.

I have purchased the gear hammocks I have used at West Marine, but I am sure that there are cheaper ones.

We have a variety of "Sun Showers." I believe that the smallest one is about 1/2 gallon. It is enough for a one person rinse off after the soap up. . I have taken a number of one gallon of water or less showers. Our "hang up" Sun Shower is the 2.5 gallon one. We also have a 5 gallon (?) which has a mesh bag, and bladder, plus foot pump, so you can leave the bag on deck, and then use the long hose under pressure to rinse off with.

For a boat shower, go to ACE hardware & get a two gallon pump up garden sprayer. Heat water on the stove, & you're good to go. I also put a bend in the sprayer wand to to make it more convenient.

Larry, I bought a Zodi shower but I found that on the Trent we didn't need the heating element part of it. You can buy the pump and shower hose part of it separate. We just took a water container to the washrooms and filled it with suitable hot water then used the pump and hose part of the Zodi. It uses D cells for the pump and they seem to last a long time.

Solar is good too though Smile

Regards, Rob

One other thought for storage ideas over the forward bunk, is to put bungee cords passed thru eye straps, screwed to the underside of the deck. We then put our clothing, and other gear in Eagle Creek Pack-it Cubes (14 x 10 x 3 in).

We suspended the hammock on each end either with the eye straps screwed to the overhead, or clips which were placed over the end of bow raining bolts, and finished with an acorn nut.

We also have sheet bags, at the aft end (head for us) which will hold many of the items we need to keep close at hand, such as eye glasses, flash lights, books, Kindle, Kleenex, etc. Currently the Ronstan is the closest to what we have, but there are other "organizers" which will work. We have grommets in the upper corners and attach those to eye straps or the clips.

Picked up and used the coleman solar shower used it last weekend works good. Wasn't long in the sun before water was comfortable to use just a few hours. Also 2 storage hammocks from Defender still have to install them.

yeah, we used it at Catalina. Filled it about half way up, full is 5 gal. I used it for 1 shower, Judy used it for a sponge bath. So that appears to be 1 gas per shower?

Laid it on the roof and led the hose into the shower thru the head window. So I sat down and had a warm shower. The only problem was the nozzle was hard to open and pulled out of the hose. Gotta fix that before we leave for Santa Cruz Isle.

Just as an aside, C-Dory put shelves in Journey On's v-berth. Judy fills them up when we're cruising.

Boris, I have a couple of those "bag" showers also. I leave them on the bow of the boat during the day to heat up, then place them just above the cabin entry door so we can use them in the cockpit. (CD-22). I had the same problem with the shower end coming out of the hose. I used some tie straps (those little zip ties) to keep the ends in better! With a full bag, both my wife and I could easily take showers, and still had some left over. (And here I thought I would need two when I purchased them.... Smile Colby

Didn't have box when we took solar shower on boat. After a little while turning head trying to get water out, figured out to pull out nozzle head to get it to spray. Always read instructions last, need to change that.
