I have a 1972 Willard Searcher that I would be interested in trading. We have decided a little faster boat would better suit us. I have a document that contains some of the recent upgrades via word.doc should anyone be interested. Bottom line, you won't find a cleaner better updated Willard. Over six figures has been spent in the last few years, 800 hour Yanmar, new upholstery, grannite countertops, dripless, aqua drive, awlgrip paint, stainless anchor, the list goes on and on.
You can reach me via bshillam@hotmail.com, or phone 503-781-9967
Check out the links for more info on the boat,

That is one pretty Willard. Not exactly a trailer boat, but transportable.

Yeah, its a pretty one. We have come to realize though, that with our schedule we are willing to trade speed for space.
Oh, add to the long list of upgrades
Dickenson diesel heater - keeps the boat nice and toasty! |

Well, we just came back from the Friday Harbor gathering and really enjoyed meeting old friends and some new ones as well. Just thought I would bump the thread up. If anyone has been given consideration of moving to a larger vessel and would like to travel great distances this would be a fantastic coastal cruiser. She burns 3/4 of a gallon per hour at 6 knots. She holds 100 gallons of diesel which would give you approximately 820 miles with a 10% reserve.
Should you know of anyone that is thinking about trading their 25 this would be a great vessel to consider.
Cheers |

Byrick, great to see you here at Friday Harbor! We are not the folks for your desired trade, trailering it still very important to us, but good luck, I know your Willard will be just right for some one! _________________

I am a firm believer that one should shop for their own boat, car, house, etc when pricing on the market. It is my belief that my Willard will be the next Vega sold. I have looked at Yachtworld, boattrader, and CL with everything it has had done to it it is a solid value. Now there are less expensive Willards out on the market but none as well priced with the updates/upgrades. It was fun seeing all the CD in one place and we look forward to more gatherings in the near future. |

Byrick, You guys were right next door at FH but i didn't get it that you were the ones with this Willard. Sorry, my bad. Would have loved to talk with you about it, They are really cool boats and yours is beautiful, but it's too early for me to settle into a only PNW boat.
Wish you the best on your sale.

Thanks for the kind words. I so enjoyed seeing all the C-Dorys. Like being home. The wife and I have such a great spot in our hearts for these boats, it was our first boat and we still think of it often. The memories, friends, and the boat - it was one of the top days when we bought her. It was not the best when seeing her go.
We continue to explore our next boat but we feel the C-Dory just might be our next. All boats are compromises and that's OK, if I have a great boat and no flybridge well then, maybe I'll get auto pilot and just sit on the roof.
Stay tuned - had a very interested party come through today, will know tomorrow if the Willard is sold.
Cheers! |
