Hello C-brats
Our heartfelt love to Vince and Joyce who owned ClueZo before us, their dream will be kept alive in us.
We are the new owners of ClueZo, previously of Mystery Bay WA, now just Mystery Bay (yet to be discovered).
History: We are post sailboat cruisers having spent a lifetime of sailing the big water, 15 year live- a-boards (Falmouth Cutter Mariko), and two years cruising the Pacific. We owned a 32 Nordic Tug, (hated it, very uncomfortable) for the Alaska adventure but did not like the boat.
Moved to Idaho 6 years ago (retirement) but the wanderlust kept calling so we started checking out the C-dory boats for sale as we did 15 years ago.
You folks have too much fun, and "since this is not a dress rehearsal, it is the only chance you get" we thought we would take the plunge.
We are alive and well in Northern Idaho. ClueZo will suffer many days in the lakes abounding North Idaho and Montana, and then she will go back to Puget Sound for a moment only as she presses North to new territory.
Our plans are to include solar power (our home is totally off grid, beautiful all cedar home, no lights at night in view at night no neighbors. absolutely beautiful place so why not continue that on the boat).
We will make ClueZo completely UN stoppable, she will cruise places you only dreamed of.
We are excited and apprehensive, but that is part of Cruising. Keep it interesting and exciting, keep it simple and fun. We will be writing more so keep tuned.
Mike, Helen and Skipper Dog, ClueZo's new owners.
PS:
Skipper Dog because when he needed to go, he became the Skipper and we went ashore! _________________ Michael & Helen Meier & Mac and Cleo (dog)

Welcome Mike, Helen and Skipper Dog,
Glad to hear ClueZo is in good hands. I have watched that boat for several years at Mystery Bay and met Vince several times.
My first sighting of a C-Dory was on Priest Lake, but I couldn't catch up, I was on my sailboat, then a Montgomery 15, and the C-Dory was such a cute, salty thing I had to go find out what it was.
Hope to hear much more of your travels. Be sure and ask for a photo album. Send a PM to Tyboo or DaNag. Go to the top of the home page, click on the member list tab and they are the top 2, right under the admin line. That'll get you set up to add pix to your album and to posts in the thread.
Hope to see you on the water,
Harvey

Welcome and congrats!
There are quite few sailors here, so I think you'll feel right at home (and of course everyone is very welcoming, not just sailors )
I spent a week sailing with a friend on Priest Lake in the late 90's - what a sweet spot! I've been thinking it would be nifty to bring the C-Dory over that way.
Glad to have you here, and pats to Skipper Dog,

Welcome aboard. Not only are many us ex sailors/liveaboard/long distance cruisers, but also ham operators (all of which go together). I am sure that you will also find the flexibility of the C Dory, and the ability to boater home/camp along the highways, and byways also add to the experience.
Great to see that you already have an album and your own photos up.
Don't forget the South East, is also good cruising, especially in the Winter Months.
Did you have a blog from previous boating adventures? OK, I found a lot of great stuff--I'll wait for you to post some links! And will be looking forward for similar blogs about the C Dory 22.
I can see that you are used to tight quarters! _________________ Bob Austin

Welcome and congrats on your new toy! Just wanted to add that although we are no doubt a minority Bob didn't mention some of us also live "off grid". Your place sounds beautiful. We have lived off grid since 1979. Had a phone line installed in 1987. A well drilled in 2002. Diesel generator, Trace invertor and house wired for 110v. in 2002(that was a big year!) Now just look at me go with a laptop!!
A little curious - what was it that you didn't like about the Nordic Tug?
Regards, Rob _________________ Talk to me and I will listen-- but if its not about boats or fishing all I will hear is bla, bla, bla, yada, yada, zzzzzzzz |

Welcome aboard -- you live near marvelous cruising waters, so have great times nearby. Your idea of trailering over to the NW coast and off to the north should be great enjoyment for you. Relax, putt along, and enjoy! Bon voyage - El and Bill _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)
