I'm sure there's a better name for this thing, but...
The shower in our 25 feeds into a white box with a Rule bilge pump and float switch in it. While replacing the hose leading from the box, I broke the nipple off. Doesn't anyone know where I can get a replacement box?! I've posted a photo in my album, in case my description isn't clear. Couldn't figure out how to stick the photo in this post.
Thanks! |

Hello Dennis,
You are describing a shower sump drain assembly. A quick search at Defender.com shows they sell TWO different brands of this devise. This is their Whale brand set up
As with most things, you can spend more or less depending upon your preferences. I'm not sure about buying JUST the box; it might behoove you to buy an entire new assembly...then you would have spare parts for future failure of pump, float switch, etc.
Fair winds and drained sumps!

Rule also has the shower sump pump. I agree with Dave, you probably need the entire new outfit, since it comes with a sort of filter to avoid hair balls in the bilge pump.

I can't speak to either of these specifically, but I've found Whale to be "solid" in the decent quality department for other things over the years. |

There is a good reason to go with the Rule, since that is what is in the boat now, hookup of the wiring, and plumbing will be far easier.
Also the screws for the base will match. While you have the box out, over drill all of the screw holes in the bottom of the hull, and then slightly undercut to remove any affected core--then fill with thickened epoxy and set the new screws in those epoxy plugs to prevent any further core damage. |
