Well you appear to have it down now. One thing though - if the image is larger than about 1024pixels wide, it will exceed the width of many people's monitor and all subsequent posts will have their text wrap at the width of the image. That's why on a few posts on the site with either large images or very long URLs, you have to continually scroll left and right to read the posts (while simultaneously scrolling down). This is a bug of the somewhat older software that is currently being used to run the site and someday, I'm sure Bill will upgrade it. But for now, wide images and long URL's make it difficult to read the threads in which they are embedded. I posted this in another thread also but re-posted it here so you could see the impact. Depending on the horizontal resolution of your screen, my text may or may not require horizontal scrolling. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

Great pix. Funny, you are trying to get your's smaller, and I would like to get mine to to be bigger, but still be in the frame without having to scroll back and forth.
Are you bringing those in from your album? I didn't know the album pix could get that big. I still have lots to learn.

Blueback,
Speaking as an observer and having no knowledgeof how the site software decides when to make the text tiny: the tests done after the first oversize photo is put up won't be valid, because the oversized one bumps everything on the entire page to the left.
So the wrap is determined by whatever is the largest photo on the page. _________________ Dave Kruger

Yes that makes sense Dave -- my large photo set up a default for posts that followed it would seem.
But somehow after I studied BBCode options to limit my picture size, my next posted picture stayed within boundaries of the page. But the next answering post did not.
As I was born and educated "BC" - thats before computers - not Christ, I struggle with writing web language code, or for that matter understanding it.
But I sail on now to find someone to help me set up "My Album" any takers?

The ironies here are delicious--LOL
I started out not realizing that a picture to be posted had to be in 'web" language--yeah dummer than dirt. Then I thought that uploading to Photo-Bucket would solve my dilemma. Well that left me at their mercy for adds the never ended to expand my site to store more photos--gurr--
Then I found the site Google + Photo which is a free Microsoft site connected to Picasa. That meant I could upload all my pictures free and further - no annoying adds. Further, it is somewhat seamless as MS builds both sites and they talk to each other. Then inside Google + Photo there is an option for full size photos - or otherwise when posting.
Open up the site - then picture-- then click on pic location copy etc - then use the Firefox BBCode to post |

Blueback - You're doing great and the photos are awesome. The peculiarities of the forum software (and sometimes forum participants!) take a little getting used to. Keep the photos coming! |

Thanks for your note of support - it means a lot - as I was becoming a mental wreck by hours of frustrated failures. Yes its been a battle as I would follow instructs to the T and get a white board instead of a picture. I have a Window 8.1 platform now, which has been a learning curve from my 2004 XP.
Then you find well intended instructions which just don't work and it makes me feel like, why can't somebody jump in and help? However, most of us are just able to solve our own problems- we are not computer techs- and those that are don't have all the answers either.
Cheers

You are going to work it all out, I promise. I can say that with some conviction because, like Sgt. Shultz, I really do know nothing about computer stuff. And yet, somehow I figured out how to post pictures! Now you should ask Mike or Bill to set up an album for you. Truth is I'm looking forward to some pictures of your 16 footer. Downloading into your album and then posting those pictures into any thread you wish is a good place to start. Finally, I would like to use your test post pic of Columbia Beach as my screen saver, if it's OK with you. _________________ MartyP

Please do Marty and enjoy.
I have been to the great Oracle and have asked him to help to help me here. With no disrespect meant.
