Great Republic getting a complete restoration

I finally got some restoration photos loaded in my album! I can't figure out how to post them here but go the my Great Republic photo library and open the restoration folder.

Part of my love affair with this model is the large dance floor for fishing and crab pots! I will not be extending the pilothouse.

At the C-Dory factory in 1986. I am told the first owner was the C-Dory dealer in Superior, WI and I bought it off the second owner in Vermont. It has never seen salt water… but that is about to all change this spring. Great Republic has finally made it back home.

I wonder if this boat was brought back into production with an outboard/s instead of the outdrive with some upgrades in terms making it in two configurations; one being built and rigged for fishing and the other rigged for cruising and being a great boat for the Great Loop. I wonder what the response would be in the current market?

Does this boat have a delta pad on the keel at the transom??? If it did that would be very interesting! Are all pro anglers set up like this? Or is the bottom just flattened at the keel?

So is the old fish box sealed up and the new fish box will be where the old motor came out?

Chromer- the old fish box is still separate and forward of the old engined box. The newly reworked old engine box is where batteries and other mechanical/electrical equipment will go.

Kushtaka- the bottom is just flattened out at the keel.

I can't figure out how to post a pic here. If someone wants to chime in on how to do this please do! In my restoration album is a new pic of the boat floating today. The new transom bracket is on and the Yamaha hanging! Bitter End put her in the water today to re-measure waterlines and now the boat is off to get the bottom sand blasted before new epoxy coat and bottom paint.[/img][/url]
