Hi All,
We have a 2005 Honda Classic 8 for our kicker. It only has about 4 hours on it. This morning we were using it to troll. I noticed that the green oil pressure light was not on. I shut it down and restarted. The light would not come or stay on at trolling speed. As I increase the RPM's it flickers then finally comes on and stays on. Has anybody else had any similar problems with this motor? Thanks!

Hmm I have the old Honda 7.5 and I have never had that problem. I would take it in for service/warranty repair. This should not happen. First though make sure you have enough oil in the crankcase.

My guess is that you either have a bad oil pressure sending unit or a bad connection to it.

Thanks Gary. I think you are probably on the right track. I did check the oil level and it was full. I'm thinking it's most likely one of the things you mentioned. The only other possibility that I can come up with is a defective oil pump. I have a call into Rick @ C-Dory. I'm hoping I don't have to yank the engine off and take it in. It's bolted to the transom and I'd just as soon leave it alone.
