I have a 4 assembly blue seas battery setup and, after removing the turn button on the top and two screws supposedly holding the cover down on of them, it doesn't want to budge. Does it simply pry off or am I missing something?

Don't want to break the plastic cover but I need to take off a wire. Help?

Thanks (and Merry Christmas)

Charlie

I'm somewhat familiar with the Blue Sea switches - just helped a friend with a job wherein we put in both styles (mini and regular) (had them in and out a number of times). Can you give some more detail on which one it is? I'm not familiar with "4 assembly."

They have photos of them on the website, to help identify it.

Also, their switches can be mounted one of three ways: Surface, half on each side of a panel, or completely "inset." That would make a difference.

These must be mini. There are 4 "modules", three on/off (one house, one start and one combine) and one VSR. The whole shebang is about 6" on a side, each switch (and VSR) being about 2 1/2" square. I didn't see a photo on the website.

The knob, on the house switch (only one tried this far) when turned past off (ccw) clicks and comes off but I can't get the cover off to get to the terminals to take off the wire to the removed wallas. There are two long screws in each cover on diagonal corners (the other two holes are empty. Each module (of the 4) has the same screws.

I'll try to get a picture later this weekend if necessary. I'm thinking prying with a small putty knife or screwdriver, carefully, will do it but I'm not positive.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Charlie

Hello Charlie,

Could these be BEP switches? The description of "4 modules" sounds more like a BEP product.

Does it look like this?

Anyway, to access the 'guts' you need to remove the screws in the corners of the grey housings...they link together such that you may not be able to remove just ONE cover but the 4 of them will come off as an assembly after you take out all the screws.

Fair Winds,

david

My bad. BEP they are. I'll try all the screws, many thanks!
