The spring latch on our CC23's "door stop" rusted and broke several months ago. There appeared to be no way to replace the broken spring. I looked in various marine supply stores and other locations but never found the OEM part.

Recently, while surfing the 'net I happened on the magic word combination; and there it was!

The Door stop has a 2" base and 2.5" height (same as the original).

The "Stainless Door Stop & Catch" (Part #221710-1) is manufactured by "SEADOG Line Quality Marine Gear" and sold by Green Canyon Outfitters (522 East Railroad St, Long Beach, MS 39560 TEL: 877-808-4855. I ordered it through Amazon. As I recall it was $22.95 (incl shipping).

Best,
Casey&Mary

Isn't it "funny" how you can search and search for something, but sometimes until you know just the right term, it's elusive! Then you find the right term(s) and they are everywhere Very Happy

Just as a further tip, I find that much (maybe even most) of the original stainless hardware on my 22 is Sea Dog Line brand. This makes sense as they are in the NW, not that far from the various C-Dory builder locations. Cleats, drains, anchor rollers, etc.

(Although actually my door stop and all-around light are Perko, but my door has the older style stop.)

Casey, If you replace the catch on the door edge while installing the new part, I suggest you blunt the ends of the attaching screws a little. A few years ago the tips of those screws made just enough contact with the edge of the tempered glass in our door that the door "exploded" and the entire window was crazed into those little 1/4" pieces (fortunately the adhesive between the two sheets held things together)
