Picked up brand new 2015 trailer for my C Dory!
Got Kodiac disc brakes and bunks and led lights!
Very excited to load my boat on her this Sat!

Nice looking trailer
If you don't mind me asking, how much ?
Raincoast could use a heavier trailer.
Thanks Dave

It looks like it is missing something I think of as important. That is two more bunks toward the front that help guide and cradle the front third of the boat. They also help stiffen the whole boat trailer package. But maybe my trailer is unique. I though all dory trailers had the main aft bunks and the secondary forward bunks.

Not a criticism. Just curious what your trailer supplier thought when they only installed the main aft bunks. Their analysis my have shown that only the aft main bunks are needed. I haven't looked at many empty C-Dory trailers, so maybe just the two bunks are needed.

My trailer also has the bunks at the front (total of 4), They are fairly close together. It looks like the trailer in the picture will need one or two additional cross members if the forward bunks are to be installed.

The bunks at the back may also need to be a little closer together.

I had some of the same thoughts. The short bunks on mine are at the rear half of the trailer. This pix shows my trailer in front and my boat on a borrowed trailer for while I did some refurb on my own trailer. We are getting ready to switch trailers and get SleepyC back onto her own trailer.

I just want to say that I love new trailers. No rust, everything works and there's hope for the future.

just another small notice. The bunks on your new trailer may be tilted too much. At least on my 2006, they are virtually horizontal lateral to the ground. Of course, when you slide the boat on, it may flatten them out to fit. I'm really thinking you may want to chat with the trailer guys a bit more unless you are totally comfortable with the set up as is...before you load up the boat. Maybe fax a pix of the trailer to someone at C-Dory...if they can be reached since the fire, and get their take on the trailer set-up.

Otherwise, lets all go boating and have fun on the water!!

Hi Everyone
Thanks for your insights on the bunk setup for my angler

I did a bit of inquiry. The Roadrunner Trailer place makes all the trailers for the C Dory dealer here in western Canada (Port Boat House) I phoned them and they said my new trailer is setup the way all of them are for the new C Dory boats they sell. I am sure I can always add 2 more as an option later because you can't go wrong with more support! This Sat I will put the boat on for the first time and see how it sits. Apparently the bunks that are there, pivot so they will move to fit the boat once it sits on it

For those of you who asked the basic trailer was $3500 cdn. I added LED lights, Kodiac disc brakes, and two "goal posts" to help guide the boat on which was an extra $500 and change (plus taxes of course)
Its an all welded frame dipped in galvanizing and then the extras added. Has 14" tandem with brakes on all wheels. He told me the axles are rated for much more weight than I can ever carry (I licensed it for just under 4900 lbs since my van can only pull 5000)

I probably will have to tweak it but I hope it will last me a long time!

Good, that contact with the trailer manufacturer should take away any doubts. Hope you have fun with the new baby carriage.

Hi Stefan

http://www.roadrunnerltd.com/tandem.html

(4800 series on website)

This trailer is rated to carry 4800lbs plus the trailer weight of about 1150lbs makes total gross load of about 5950lbs

Check out the website above. Boat dealers also sell these trailers but the manufacturer is on Mitchell Island underneath the Knight St bridge in Richmond.
Mike is the owner there. He will custom build anything you need or want

I found him easy to work with. You might want to contact sooner than later as he is only open for about another month before he closes for the season.

BTW- I like the "baby carriage" description. I had a good laugh about that

Good luck
