We can't figure out where the shore power plug should be connected.

Carol Lani,
Does your boat even have shore power capabilities? Do you have a 120 VAC circuit panel in your boat? The most common mounting location of the shore power inlet receptacle is located on the aft side of the aft cabin bulkhead, all the way forward in the storage tray, starboard side.
Best regards,
Steve Baum

Welcome!

I would wonder the same thing as srbaum above. There is every chance that a 1997 22 would not have come with shore power. It's generally an option and one of those things that is probably on a higher percentage of newer boats.

My 2002 doesn't have it. That happens to be fine with me as I don't tend to plug in anyway. Although I may put in one of the "simple" systems that some others here have (they are not full-on shorepower systems, so more appropriate for occasional use vs. regular plugging in).

Quite a few people have written up good shorepower installs (full system). Ferret30 is one I remember had good photos and descriptions (in case you want to add one).

PS: I'm sure I speak for everyone here in welcoming you to the fold and also in hoping you might get an album (PM member DaNag to ask for one) and post photos. We can't get enough of seeing other C-Dorys/adventures Very Happy
