As a relatively new C-Dory owner ('95 Cruiser), we find that we do not need the capacity of this big tank for our needs- mostly day cruises & around the San Juans. also, since the fuel (even with non-ethanol) tends to stay fresh if the tank stays full and the weight in the stern from a full 52 gallons is difficult to get onto plane.
Have replaced the saddle tank with 2 9-gallon Moellers, room for two more if we change our patterns. Kept the starboard/port switch and run both thru the Racor filter and seems to fit our needs.
That said, anyone need our old tank? I have no idea what it might be worth but spent $200 on the plastic replacement tanks....
Love this website,

Hi Tom. You may want to hang onto that tank for the time you change boats. Putting it back to stock condition might be important for most buyers. Right now your range is 50 miles with no reserve. Quite limiting ok for your use but possible deal killer for when you want to sell. ( we all do eventually). George |

Is it like this one? This photo is from an older C-Dory, although I have it labeled as a 56-gallon tank (not 52).

I can't speak to the Tom's boat specifically, but many of the 22's I have been aboard (including mine) have the batteries in the lazarette (or in both lazarettes). I have seen a few with the batteries on the sole between the fuel tanks (when there are two separate tanks), but not all/most. |

Sold the tank to a CD owner nearby in Bellingham, for his 22 Angler. Appreciate all the advice and help |
