OpenCPN beta 3.3.2107 is out

This release brings performance inprovements for vector charts, especially S57, continues in the stabilization of the OpenGL stuff merged in previous betas, improves the usability on touch screen devices and fixes the serial port synchronization issues on Windows.
The Linux packages were split into several components to save bandwidth and disk space.

The plug-in API was extended to support the functionality of the new vector chart object search plug-in and showing extended heading line was implemented.

As usually we look forward for your testing feedback at http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f134/opencpn-beta-version-3-3-2107-released-132359.html

This product simply did not work on my 2011 MacBook Pro. Not at all. I tried multiple downloads and installs, but no she go. I would love to hear from anybody with a MacBook Pro who has had success with the program, because it would be great if it worked.

Well, I had 2 navigation software issues whilst in Canada this summer.

First, the version of openCpn I was using didn't always show a course track, whatever buttion I clicked or selection I made. Second (certainly more serious,) the new Lowrance radar wouldn't hook up to the new Lowrance MFD.

For openCpn, I posted a comment on the Cruisers Forum and within hours got a reply that the problem was fixed. For the Lowrance problem, which was more serious, I got the reply "check if the radar is getting power" after I told them I could see the radars ethernet signal in the computer.

I guess when its open source, people are interested, and when it's for money, they don't care, it's already sold.

So, Pat, post your problem on the Cruisers Forum and see what reply you get. Asking the C-Brats probably will not get it done, as nice as we are.

BTW, rebooting the Lowrance device with a software upgrade got the radar on the screen. And you have to do it every time the MFD is turned on. I assume Navico software development is done by the cheapest programmers they can get. Without QC.
