Hi Everyone...
New to the C-Brats but I have been a C-Dory owner for over a year now and I have to say it has been the best boating year in my life! :) Just wish N. California had water.. but still have the Bay (Sturgeon are still running).
I have a 22' Cruiser and looking for the best windlass as an addition to the boat. I see the Lewmar 700 and 1000 talked about in this forum. What is everyone's opinion?
I put in at Lake Tahoe, N. California lakes and the SF Bay. Thanks for all of your help!

Lewmar Pro-Series 700 Windlass Kit, ~$725.
It's a horizontal drum, so any sand will fall onto the deck instead of into the motor. Power out, power in. All metal case.
An alternative is the Lewmar Pro Sport 550 Windlass Kit. ~525. Plastic case, but smaller, which is good in this case. Needs a relay, which comes with the 700.
Shop on the internet for the lowest prices.
