Does anyone have any opinions on which is best?
I'm having someone do it who does commercial boats, and he says there is no need for epoxy under, but will do it if I want.
I'm not sure whether to follow the common opinion here that the epoxy should be done, or his advice that it's unnecessary cost, and best to get it painted straight onto a well prepared surface and maintain/touch up as you need.
I'm pulling the boat and scrubbing the bottom today, and then dropping it off. It will probably get started on friday after the boat dries out well.
So, if there is advice to give, I'm all ears (or eyes in this case, I guess). |

Here's some info if you aren't familiar with PWS: we have slime, but not tons. Lots of grass builds up quickly, and lots of barnacles.
After a month in the water I will be lucky to get up to 4500 rpm WOT and my prop cavitates constantly if I don't have it trimmed almost all the way down.
We have had it in the water for the better part of a year, and only pull it from about November/December until about early February. I can leave it in year round, but there isn't a ton of daylight that time of yea, but a lot of snow shoveling to keep the boat afloat, so on the trailer it goes. |
