Hi folks. Tim, the new owner of Wild Blue, has run into a glitch with the Navionics chip he bought for the Desolation Sound area. It is a compact flash chip, Gold Series. I gave him the chips we have for all the areas we have traveled in - they work fine in the E-Series chartplotter. The new chip he bought for the Desolation Sound area does not work. Seems to be a problem with the compact flash unit, but I'd like to verify that.

Does anyone in the area (we are in Anacortes) have a Navionics chip that Tim can borrow? I'd hate to see their trip delayed while fussing with Navionics. We are willing to do the running to pick it up, and I will guarantee its return.

Tim and Mary are good folks. They planned ahead for all this, but there was no way to try the compact flash chip he bought until they got here. I have no doubt that Navionics will stand behind the chip, but that doesn't help much on a weekend, with them planning to head out on Monday.

PM me here. Thanks in advance for any help.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Is this place great, or what? A gracious C-Brat lent us a chip. Not mentioning a name, but you are a shining example of C-Brat kindness. Thumbs Up We put the borrowed compact flash chip in the Raymarine and everything is working just like it should. Now, Tim can deal with Navionics regarding the corrupted cf chip he bought, knowing that they have full chartplotter capability to head out to Desolation Sound.

Sincere thanks,
Jim
