I don't really have many pics this time, but the wife and I took a little three day to Jarrel with some friends this weekend.

We launched at Swan Town in Olympia, and it was about 90 minutes to Jarrel across reasonable, but at times snotty, waters. the weather was hit or miss showers but nothing uncomfortable for a cabin cruiser. the dock was fuller than the campground! I get a kick out of that. probably 6 or 8 boating groups there tied to the dock and bouys and only one or two camping on the entire campground.

From there we made a little trip to the farmers market on Harstene Island (kinda fun if you are at Jarrel, it can be a small hike, and its only open from 10am to noon on Saturdays, so make a note of it!!).

Then boated up to Allyn on Saturday, used the city dock again and walked over to the local pub for a drink and dinner.

All in all a pleasant 3 days on the boat despite the weird weather. Boating season is fully underway for us Smile

Hope ya'all had a good weekend. Beer

For anyone unfamiliar with Jarrel Cove, there is Marina in the cove(with fuel I believe) and the State Park has reasonably nice bathrooms with showers ($.50 for 3 minutes). its around 25 miles I think by water from Olympia. closer to Boston Harbor of course. I think next time I may just go from Narrows Marina, it looks to be the same distance by water as Swantown. its a cute park to visit.

We love to take the Olympia grandchildren there. Ice cream at the marina, in season, protected water to row the dinghy around and you can always get a float. If you tie up to the docks, it's party time at night, also in season. Nice campground ashore.
