I have read several threads that this is a great combo to store this generator. I haven't been able to find it in a store and from the dimensions I read online it looks like the height could be a problem. Unless the lid is concave it might not work.

Can anyone confirm that this will work? Always want to be space conscious of everything going on the boat.

Thanks

amazon.com has them. Let your fingers do the walking and UPS bring it to your door!

As for the fit, someone here is sure to chime in!

Gilbertsons-

Hi!

Here's a quote from my Yahoo group for Honda eu2000i generators

"The Rubbermade ActionPacker 117204 24 gallon tote seems to be the perfect container for an eu200i, with enough extra room on the side for the power cord. If not avaialble locally, you can order it through http://www.doitbest.com/Storage+totes-Rubbermaid-model-117204-doitbest-sku-609577.dib for $42 (generally no tax) and it will be delivered free for pickup at any of 3800 local hardware stores."

Specific source: (Will have to join up):

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Honda_EU2000_Generators/conversations/messages/12187

My Eu1000i also fits of course, with 3 one gallon cans of gas and other things, like electrical cords, but it's smaller than a Eu2000i:

Eu2000i = 20.1 x 11.4 x 16.7 (inches), (LxWxH)
Eu1000i = 17.7 x 9.4 x 15.0

Joe. Teeth Thumbs Up

Thanks so much. I appreciate the help. Just didn't want to order it online and then have to send it back if it didn't quite fit!

Don't have a Honda generator (yet), but saw this online. Might make a suitable storage container.

This is what I used on my 24 Tomcat. It is pricey at $500 shipped + needed to be further modified to fit my application. It did work really well in that I could start the generator and run it without ever opening the lid. Kept the water out and with the modified lock system was very secure.

I mostly liked the fact that I never had to worry about the generator getting stolen or having fumes in the cockpit which my wife was very sensitive about.

Thanks for all the ideas. For those that are interested I bought the 24 gal Rubbermaid Action Packer for my Honda EU2000i at REI in Denver. It is very tight on the height. It does go in but you have to very slightly bend the top top to lock the handles. It does have a little room on the side for cords or adaptors, etc.

Can you post a photo of your EU2000i inside the Action Packer. I am trying to determine how much room is available beside the generator and if a shore power cord could be placed alongside the generator inside the 24 gallon container.

Here is the picture. I measured approx. 4 inches of space between the generator and the wall of the Action Packer. It's about 24" long and 16-17 inches high. You do have some room for cords or other items. It would be great to find a plastic gasoline container that would fit in there! I do know folks buy the generator gas cap that allows you to make a setup to draw from the C-Dory's fuel tanks or other fuel containers.
