Here is a question for the old timers. We have always wondered how the name C Brats was choosen. Especially the
Brat part. Any history on this anybody?

There is a history of the founding of the C Brats, as they split off from the other C Dory forums. I am sure that the founders of this site: DaNag and Tyboo most likely have that available.

I wasn't there in the very beginning, I just helped facilitate the madness you see here now along with the other trouble maker. Still, here's my version as relayed to me second hand - as factual as I can make it without interjecting opinions. Mr. Green

- C-Dogs (C-Dory Owners Group) was started

- Some head butting with the management of that site/group occurred

- Paraphrasing, but the sentiment was relayed that "if you BRATS don't like the way things are being done, you're free to start up your own site"

- Challenge was accepted

Oh, so thats how it came about. Very interesting. That makes alittle more sense even though I kinda wish they would have taken the C Dog name instead (I know that was not an option). Well, I'm happy to be a member anyway. Thanks for the history. Tommy J

The name C-Brat was first used by Greg Davidson (Red Fox) on the old C-Dog forum to explain why he was unable to conform to a very stringent set of rules set down by the self-titled "Grand Poobah". After another of several public condemnations of Red Fox using the site to post pictures - beautiful images of Alaska glaciers in this instance - I set up another site (simple, free and easy on MSN Groups at the time) for him to post all the pictures he wanted. I jokingly called it C-Brats and put the "No Rules - Just Be Nice" declaration on the front page.

The Grand Poobah took exception for whatever reason and banned Red Fox, me, and a couple others who had signed onto the joke site from the C-Dog site for life. We pretty much said, "Hmmph. Old Poob is really mad. Oh well."

And the rest is history...

There is really no explanation for the whole affair, but the best attempt at one is Pat Anderson's take on it. There is even a retort by the Grand Poobah himself!

Glad this came up again. I was trying to remember some of this for a conversation recently, and I was missing some detail. Now I have it.

Thanks
