Wanderer is for sale.
It is time for someone else to enjoy her. If you take a look at our web site www.2Wander.com (The site has been on the links section of C-Brats home page as “The Wanderers” since 2006) you can see the great times we have enjoyed aboard her.

She has been used very little since 2007 –pampered and under canvas when not in the water. We put her in the water and run the grandkids around for a few hours each year. Last year they didn’t make it once

We spruced her up - carbs taken off and cleaned, washed and waxed, bottom paint. Wallis sent to Scan Marine for refurbishing. She’s complete and ready for her next adventure.

How about you?

Oh my, a lucky someone can be the next caretaker of "Wanderer." I so enjoyed your narrated slide show of your trip up the Inside Passage in her. Fantastic! Someone is going to have some (more) great adventures with great 22 Cruiser Thumbs Up

George and Penny, say it ain't so! Bill and El sold Halcyon and now you are selling Wanderer? Will always remember our good times on the Chesapeake!

I am glad you enjoyed the Inside Passage show.
It surprises me to see how much interest the show still generates. Having a link to it on the Home page of C-Brats keeps the topic in front of a lot of people. I have visited people who put the show on their tv for their guests and invite me to expand on cruising in Alaska. Sometimes we then move to our RV trip to Alaska in 2004.

I'm often asked if the boat trip was on my "Bucket List". I don't think that Bucket List was in my lexicon in 2006. In the scheme of things, the RV trip in 2004 and the boat trip in 2006 would have filled any bucket.
It was in a phone booth in Hyder Alaska that we decided to order a C-Dory. We stopped on the way home and picked color and options.
The whole 10 years has been a satisfying and enjoyable experience.

Our best!

Pat Anderson

Thanks for the nice pictures. We too have fond memories of our week together. I can picture the week as if we just got home from it.

Putting the boat on the market has been an interesting experience. It began when I read Penny the first two sentences of my ‘sales piece’. As you can see above, it goes like this. “Wanderer is for sale. It is time for someone else to enjoy her”. Penny said, “Stop you’re going to make me cry”. Then our grown children added their voices. Their general reaction has been: Why? I know you don’t need the money; it can’t cost you that much a year to maintain her, you have a free community slip to keep her in; we’ve been going out on boats with you our entire lives. Then came the Remember When litany; followed by we kind of expect to go out on the boat when we visit – our kids will be disappointed.

The common theme, of C-Brat reactions, in emails and posts, has been expressed above by yourself and Sunbeam.

Why? There are emotional and physical answers.

The short physical answer is that my 77th year make-over did not achieve its goal. I don’t feel confident that I can move around fast enough to take her out and bring her back from remote places with a reasonable safety margin.
Thank God I can still travel in my head. I will visit many of you there.

Emotionally: Too many toys, makes for too many options. I feel guilty for not using Wanderer. There is something inherently wrong when you stress-out about what toy to play with.

Yes Pat, I’m afraid it is so.

The best of times!
