This might have been discusses already, but if someone came from the US side and did not have Nexus Pass, would they need to stop in customs somewhere prior to arriving in Victoria?

If so, can the process for crossing be described.

RB, not that you should take it for granted but we've only had to use the phone each time we've checked in at Canadian customs. Just be sure to have your passport or enhanced drivers license, plus boat registration. Be sure to declare all fruits, vegetables, alcohol. In general, they'll allow small amounts of alcohol but pretty much no fresh fruits or vegetables. It's very important to declare same items on the return to US because they always come down to the dock and check out your boat.

All in all, pretty easy.

I would have to put those in the "way back" for them to have any chance of making it to the gathering Smile

Does anybody know if there is a swimming pool nearby to the marina?

We would be traveling with a 4 and 6 year old and want to know what kiddie attractions might be within short walking distance to the boats.

Thanks,

You are more than welcome to drop some Rice Crispie Squares off at Birch Bay if you are concerned they are not sufficiently "substantial"! Seriously, whatever you bring will be FINE!

Never been to a gathering before. Stacy is using the excuse of the potluck to make rice crispy squares - are they OK or something more substantial?

We'll be driving up to Cap Sante tomorrow to spend the night in a guest slip before heading out for Victoria on Friday morning. Stop by if you're in the area and say hi.

Redbaronace,

We will be there with our 7 year old so you two will have an additional playmate.

Our daughter, Aven has enjoyed the playground at a nearby park, the IMAX theater, and the bug zoo. Pretty sure we will be hitting these over the weekend.

Also, she loves getting her net out while on the dock to see what she can catch.

Cindie

Leaving out of Cornet Bay mid-morning tomorrow. Tides suck but the weather looks OK.

well .....we are in Friday Harbor and headed out to Victoria today Friday afternoon. Hope to be in Victoria about 1 or 2 pm today. Tom is still working but remotely. Thank goodness for the internet.

Thora believes she has all 17 boat reserved but please call if you not already as there are pretty full.

dinner tonight is at milestone grill at 812 wharf street. At 8:15pm and thanks to Dorothy of Paddle 2t.

Breakfast saturday morning I will have muffins, juice and hopefully coffee on the dock. Andrea bridges gets credit for the coffee as she is helping find it.

potluck saturday night at 6:00pm. We have three small table coming. If any one is inclined then one more small table might help. Thank you to warren and lori keuffel for bringing the cdory supplies and a table.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Just back from a great 6 day paddling trip in the Nuchatlitz. I am still planning to come down town for the potluck Sat Eve. I hope to go to Port Alberni tomorrow to pick up Natural C-lection. I was having them do some work on it for me.

I haven't been on the C-Brat site in about 5 weeks. Way too long. Sure wish I could have made this trip, but it couldn't be this time. Sounds like you all are doing it right. Fish and chips and sunny days. Enjoy. Safe travels to all.
