Hi
Jo and I do not have a boat yet, but we are looking. Have you settled on the date? Can we just show up?
Thanks

I get back from a 6 day kayaking trip on the west coast of Vancouver Island (Nuchatlitz area) on Friday night, so probably won't be able to make it to the dinner, but I do hope to make it down to the docks for some time on Saturday and hopefully for the potluck. Monica will be away in the Okanagan.
(Just getting caught up after almost 6 weeks away in the UK, Ireland and Iceland!) _________________ Mike and Monica Jackson, Victoria, BC

We had a blast at the gathering in Pender Harbour. That was also our first gathering so we are looking forward to Victoria. At Pender Harbour there was a pot-luck dinner one evening. We got the impression this is a regular thing. If so I will do a seafood chowder agian. Is there something of an itinerary on this?

Hi, yes there is a pot luck on Saturday night at the dock. We will not have such a nice area as we did at Sydney, but we will make due at the dock.
Friday we are going out for dinner. The info is in the post above. Dinner out one night, Dinner at the dock the next and all of Victoria to explore in-between. That is about as organized as these thing's get. |

We should be headed north out of John Wayne Marina at about 3:30 Friday if the conditions are looking good enough.

This might have been discusses already, but if someone came from the US side and did not have Nexus Pass, would they need to stop in customs somewhere prior to arriving in Victoria?
If so, can the process for crossing be described. |

If you have not already cleared customs you would have to stop at the Canada Border Services Float in the harbour before docking. They do have a phone at the dock 1 888 226 7277. The float is on your starboard side when entering the inner harbour between Raymur Point and Coast Harbourside Hotel Marina |

We will not be at Victoria, we will be in Snoqualme for my Mount Si Class of 1964 50th reunion (!), but I can tell you one thing - DO NOT DALLY when Blake brings out the seafood chowder! It is wonderful! I nearly missed it at Pender Harbour, I think I got the last of it. Just trust me, it will go fast and you DON'T want to miss it! _________________

Never been to a gathering before. Stacy is using the excuse of the potluck to make rice crispy squares - are they OK or something more substantial?
We'll be driving up to Cap Sante tomorrow to spend the night in a guest slip before heading out for Victoria on Friday morning. Stop by if you're in the area and say hi. |
