Congratulations on the new boat! There is a boat broker in Friday Harbor (WA) who uses the slogan: "You live on an island - you NEED a boat!"
You have a perfect boat for cruising your area three seasons, then hauling north for the summer. We'll look forward to hearing (and seeing - we like photos!) about how you use your boat.
Best wishes,
Jim B. |

Welcome aboard. Where are you exactly in Marathon? We are in Knights Key RV resort Space Harbor 6, with our 18 foot Caracal center console cat just behind the RV in the boat basin. I made a brief sweep of Marathon moorings a couple of days ago (before the wind kicked up) and did not see any C Dory's. If you are on a specific mooring or dock, it would help me find you.
I have PM my cell phone number.
Congratulations on your new boat. We will have other C Brats visiting shortly! _________________ Bob Austin

Flint,
We are leaving Sunday for Marathon. We are leaving a little early as a result of the single digit temps around here. We should be in Marathon by Wednesday Jan 29th. We will put the boat in and stay for a week at the Black Fin marina on or near 47th street. We plan to wonder over to Flamingo and do some fishing bayside. Good Luck with your new boat. Maybe we will bump into you.

Bob,
It's only up to a balmy 15 degrees here in Pa. After I get off the chain gang I'M going home to pull the winter cover off the boat and bring it down and put it in the heated shop at work. Tomorrow I'll finish loading, and checking tire pressures etc. Sunday am we head for Wilson, N.C. Then Darien Georgia Monday and on to Key Largo Tuesday. Mostly 400 mile hops. Marathon on Wednesday we should get the canvas up and launch at the Black Fin. Next week here even looks worse as far as the cold goes; that's why I'm bolting four days early. A little snow tomorrow two to three inches. We got to get outa here. How have the temps been down there? I looked at the ten day weather for Marathon looks a boat load better than this place. I'm beginning to wonder about Al Gore and whole Global Warming yarn.

I met up with Flint and Leslie Firestone this morning. They are going to be great C Brats, with boating experience--already done the Loop once with their previous 42 foot Motor Yacht!
They bought the Tranquillo--the Venture 26 I had checked out at Dog River in Mobile a couple of months ago. It is a great boat--almost new, but sat outside and needed some TLC, which they are giving the boat! I'll let Flint fill in his plans--sounds exciting!
We are going to get together for dinner on this next Wednesday night--all in the area are welcome to join us. Send me an e-mail or PM. for details. |

We went out for a "Cruise" around Marathon harbor. As we came along the South Sea Wall, I said there is another C Dory--Marie said no way.
As got closer, it appeared that Flint and Leslie had finished the projects they were working on in the morning, and had launched Tranquillo--to be "Grace Full". She polished out nicely and looks great on the water! |
