Well, I am sitting in Port Townsend waiting for the "calm seas" to come back. Left on Monday, and cruised to Blake Island. (just had to take advantage of the good weather ) Spent an enjoyable night and a fantastic morning at one of my favorite off season spots on the Sound. Moved on to Port Townsend Tuesday. It was a fantastic day to be on the water. Anchored for a bit off of the south end of the Port Townsend Canal. Very calm and warm. Fog on Wed morning kept me at the dock until 4 pm. Looked good, so I headed east. I could see Protection Island just fine, but in a matter of 15 minutes the fog rolled west bound and had me running back to Point Hudson. Hum, fog at Sequim, imagine that! The winds kicked up last night and are blowing about 20-25 right now. Forecast is for the winds to die down tomorrow am. Maybe another night in P.T. Found the library and the free computer, a few good pubs, a nice fly shop and a great bakery. Not too bad. Should get to Sequim by Sunday Looking forward to seeing folks.
PS, Jon and Mac, I found out some good information on coho fishing inside the spit. I just had to tell the guy I wouldn't share it with anyone!!! Robbi _________________ 2023 C-Dory 23 Venture Sport

Hi all,
Sequim looks like a great gathering, but we are not going to be there.
We are still in British Columbia near Campbell River and are going down island to the Gulf Islands next.
We will see you at the Boat Show party! _________________ Larry H

Our house faced Useless Bay on Whidbey Island - and we're seeing winds holding at 30 kt, gusts up to 40 kts. No rain (yet?).
So...I think I'm waiting 'till tomorrow before heading up to Sequim. Robbi - I hope you stay tucked in. Keep studying those fly fishing hints. Have you figured out anything else I should bring? Do you think there is any reason to bring my dinghy?
Winds are supposed to die down by morning here, and by afternoon at the east of of the straights - so a Friday arrival at Sequim is still in the cards. And Linda has donated a bit of Frambuesa (2005 vintage), so.....
See you'all at Sequim!

Mac, Frambuesa, I'm there come fog or gale force winds! Thanks Linda. It has settled down here in PT, I could have run up to Sequim this afternoon, but the forecast for tomorrow am sounds good. I will stay tucked in here and find a little pub for dinner. See you tomorrow. Robbi
If it is not a bother, bring the dingy. |

Larry and Nancy, bummer you two won't be there. But hey, I'd say you're in pretty good shape right where you are. See you in January.
Robbi, yeah, like Four Lucky Fish Mac said: Stay tucked in up there and safe and all that. Do you have warm socks? See you Friday.
And is there a special prize for our as yet unmet East Coast pals Mary and Gene from DaydreamC-26, flying in all the way from over there?
I look forward to meeting both of you.
We've got a good thing going here, I'd say.

Sequimdandy Jon, no whining from the catguy if we don't go international this year. I think to make such a wonderful but time consuming crossing we'd need to feel pretty dang confident the tiger continues to sleep.
Sequim Bay, Protection Island, Dungeness Spit, and maybe even Port Townsend are just fine with me. Then again, so's the dock!

Nice itinerary Brock, I was thinking the same thing for this year. And maybe I'LL drag a fishing line around for awhile, but first, I got to squeeze the secret salmon info out of Robbi.

The winds are dying down here - running about 12 kts now at the house. We peaked at 40 here, Mulkiteo measured 50kts. Got some blow down - the corn field looks like someone ran through it! Hope Roger's fields are OK!
Planning to leave early am - while there is enough water in our chasnnel to get out. If all goes OK, should get to Sequim around noon tomorrow
See you all then

Well, we are back on the edge - motor from Everett or drive around to John Wayne? Hmmm, what to do, what to do. It was blowing like Hades in Snoqualmie today, the rain was going sideways...guess we'll see what tomorrow brings. _________________

Well, Shoot! If B~C can't make it then I guess we can't either.
Not really. I mean because of B~C. But we are really sorry that we can't make this one either. We're working on my Mom and Dad's 50th Anniversary the next weekend and there is way too much to still do.
Hope you all have a wonderful time in Sequim and we'll mark our calendar now for the Boat Show! |

Hi Folks,
Here's the 8am forecast from Sequim Bay. High overcast, the bay looks like glass, visibility is really good, can see the mountains accross the straight. Can't answer for the winds on the outside though.
If anybody needs wheels in the vicinity we'll be motoring around between PA - Sequim and Port townsend today. Hope to see you and your boats later. Mary's cell # is 215 896 3773.

I finagled a double shift yesterday so I could skip work today to get everything ready to roll. We are hoping to pick Tiff up from school at 3:10 and get out of here shortly after. Kay is sick, and she's saying she might stay home. That means the clam chowder will be scorched because I will be the one heating it up. I think we can talk her into going, though. Hope so. But me and the kids will be there one way or another. _________________ TyBoo Mike

Still shootin' for a 3:30 departure. Wish me luck! |
