I would bring your salmon gear. The fish are running late this year and Sept. 30th, Friday, the Strait is still open(marked silvers only). October 1st, the Strait shuts down and the Sequim area is open from the end of the Spit to Port Williams Boat ramp(marked or unmarked). I think Friday will be the best bet. The inside fishery, starting Oct.1st has never produced anything for me. Or, one could run to area 9, Admiralty Inlet (Port Townsend area) and keep any silver you catch.
Alright Mike, It sounds like another Sequim Pardo!!! |

Hi all,
As it turns out, we are scheduled to be in the Port Ludlow area the weekend of the Sequim gathering and though we won't have our \0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0boat along we can't resist the thought of stopping by for a bit to see you all. Besides, we're researching camper back options and have heard some of you have experience with these. We'd like to have a look.
Will there be a pot luck dinner? We'd be up for that. Roberta, we saw the picture of prawns in your Force 10 boiling pot, looks yummy!

I like the idea of starting the potluck earlier as it's nice to see all the food options that are set out on the table! The TyBoo crew will be bringing clam chowder again this year and maybe some of those cornbread muffins. Will be great to see you all again.

Could someone just call my boss and tell him to fire me so we could come too? (I've got no vacation cuz I'm new to the job) Forgive my whining -- or maybe give me some crackers n cheese to go with my whine? |

Just tell him you can't work weekends. There is always crackers and cheese at the big Sequim cookout. Lots and lots of other stuff, too.
This year is going to be a special one for us, because I took Monday off so we can leave later and join in on the big breakfast at the casino Sunday late morning. It might not be as special as the year before last when we bought a boat. Or as special as last year when Robbi did so much for our litle girls. Or as special as the first year we went and met Dusty. But hey, Sunday breakfast at the casino is a good thing! So is not having to hurry home and get ready for work the next morning.
There are a lot of special friends from up thataway who are not on the list yet, but once they realize how much less special it will be for us without them, they will show up.
The more I think about this, Caty and Steve, the more it looks like you will have to come. Breakfast at the casino might need a little help to be special, so you gotta be there.
Ever notice that Kay's signature lists only her and that miserable little mutt dog and the boat? I wonder if she is planning on taking me and the kids and the other miserable little mutt on this trip? That would be special. _________________ TyBoo Mike

Wow Mike, you are one brave puppy.
Them words would be cause for lots of strife here on the right coast and we been married for 40 years this December.... 10 of the best years of my life!!
You can tell my bride doesn't check this site...although I have showed her how to do it. I have a hard enough time training her to turn on the TV.

We'd love to join everyone, but we just can't do it. It's at least a five hour drive each way for us...next year I'll save a couple days vacation for the long trips! Hope everyone has a great time...I love that area -- it's beautiful! Ketch some feesh for us, eh! |

Hey Tyboo, Kay, & girls
Wonderful that you're coming up for the fall Gig! I'm betting that Robbi will be up for further science lessons. Remember the phosphoresence is always in the night water!!! And, I'm betting that Dusty could be talked into running over to Sequim Bay in his big boat on Saturday - just takes a little arm twisting, hugs, & the promise of a few treats... And, Fred & Robbin & Brock should be able to recover from the Desolation Sound trip by then and motor over too.
I'm thinking that a big bon-fire at the big firepit is just the thing this year. Jon and I will work on reserving the group camp. This area allows for camping, parking, gathering, etc. Plus has that great picnic shelter if needed.

I am sure looking forward to this get together. Such wonderful folks. We are on the road right now. Returning from our car gig in Wisconson. Car broke down during the first practice lap, and that was that! A 4,000 mile trip for 1/2 of a lap.
Not sure if I will run up or trailer. Depends on the weather. I plan on being there Friday, maybe Thurs. Robbi _________________ 2023 C-Dory 23 Venture Sport

OK, just firmed up our plan, we wouldn't want to miss Sequim of course! Launch Friday about 2:00 pm from Everett. Austin gets out of school at 12:18 pm and it is 1:00 pm AIS*... Would like an earlier start, but it is evidently the best we can do...according to Coastal Explorer, it will take us just under 4 hours at 12 knots...probably will run faster, but that gets us there before 6:00 pm anyway. Anybody else thinking of coming from Everett?
* AIS, for those of you who don't watch Everybody Loves Raymond, is "Ass In Seat"!!!! _________________

Our boat will not be finished in time to bring to the Sequim get together, but my wife and I would still like to come and meet you guys and see your boats, Ruth's dad lives in Sequim so we have a place to stay.
Where will you all be on Saturday ? And would you mind if you showed up to introduce ourselves. Our boat "Raven Dancer" won't be ready until mid October and I would lay odds it will be the end of October !
Thank you.
Big Dave. |

Cat Guy looks forward to this gig every year because Sequim Bay and environs are so special, and C-Loo is usually on her best behavior. Also, gloves stopped snappin' some time ago, meaning we men can cavort more confidently.
The TV weatherman, looking like a televangelist with his well-mannered surplus of silver-free fur north of perfect, blinding teeth, predicted precipitation upon our parade.
Hey, wait a minute! It doesn't rain in Sequim.
