|
|
I just installed my Radar Arch on my boat inside my garage. This spring I'll be able to pull the forward pin, lower the arch into cockpit and drive the rig out. No more taking the arch on and off to put her in the garage.
The design also allows the arch to lay forward on the cabin roof by pulling the aft bolt. Local fabricator did a great job!
Arch upright
Close up of hinge
Tilted back into cockpit
Cheers,

neat idea & interesting rod holder/net holder set up. I'll have to take a closer look when you get to elfin cove this summer....I think it's some kind of Whitehorse migratory pattern _________________ Ken

Sounds like a gathering of sorts... When are you planning to come up? Trailering or navigating? |

I've been spending my summers there for the last eight years and have gotten to know some good folks from WH. It seems like a popular destination for WH folks that like fishing, if you live in WH, like fishing and have a salty boat, someday you'll end up in the Cove.
Back to the radar arch, that rod holder set up is slick. I've pondering on an arch with some rocket launchers that could also double as a kayak rack. The double stack side winder might be the solution |

It's a great rack, the vertical tubes hold the BarBQ up and out of the when not in use. Plenty of room under arch for tender or pots. I have not put kayaks up top yet but should be able to accommodate.
With the lengthening daylight, today was the first day I started thinking about summer boating plans. |

Just curious, how far above the roof does the arch protrude in the down position? |

Not very much, perhaps 6 inches. |

Thanks. I currently have my Radar mounted directly on my roof. I didn't want to go any higher due to some low bridges on a local river. But I may have to rethink that. I did have an arch on an earlier Searay, made by Atlantic Towers, I think, that would fold down, but never really thought about doing that with the CD-22. Something like yours would allow me to get the Radar and VHF antennas a little higher, plus leave me a little more fishing pole storage. |
