Our new C-Dory 22 cruiser, Chanty, with members David & Warren onboard, are on the water and learning new things each time out. No real surprises, the boat and motor perform better than expected. We're getting the feel of the boat and the equipmentt onboard by proceeding slowly, one at a time. Next up on our "things to do" list is to learn how to use the Wallas stove. It seems rather straight forward enough; we got some Klean fuel and will light her up for the first time this week. Does anyone know where to purchase the pot holders for this stove I see on several websites? And if anyone as any Wallas stove advice for first time users. please jump in.

tks, Warren

Hi Warren,

Wallas stove advice
To me, the single most important thing is high voltage on startup. I always use both batteries on start-up, even with the motor running or the charger charging. The lower the voltage the weaker, and less successful, the start-up will be. For me, anything less than 12 volts is pointless, 13 is doubtful. I like to see 14 volts before I begin. In my opinion, a digital voltmeter (10ths or 100ths volt) should be standard equipment when using a Wallas. I got my potholders from Scan Marine. They can be "googled".

There are two pot holders that came with our stove; we've never needed to use them, so I don't know how necessary they are.

You will love the stove!!!

I have two pot holders for an Origo stove if anyone wants to trade for potholders for a Wallas. Laughing

We used the pot holders for the first time on the trip to princess louisa inlet.
It was nice to be able to boil water for tea and hot chocolate while under way.
