Hi all,

We are waiting contact from folks crossing from Nanaimo. I read forecasts with strong wind warnings starting early this evening and settling some Friday afternoon.

We are right next to Trollers on G dock. My phone is 1-208-420-0511....get some reception on occasion. Or hail us on 16. I'll check back on c-brats this afternoon.

Roger and Cheryl

Winds are 14 at Entrance, 10 at Ballenas and 5 at Grief Point. Looks pretty flat this side of Texada right now.

Comox at 1310 hrs is like a mirror. Wish I could go now. Andrea is on S&R duty until 1815, then we go.

The window of opportunity is open right now. Mainland side is flat calm as far as Ballenas. Winds going light this afternoon then stronger this eve. Me I'd light 'em up and Rock!
We're in at Madiera Park in Pender if any c brats about.
All the best folks.
George

Sernity and C-Cakes just zipped by Nanaimo without picking us up. They're crossing the strait right now. Guess we'll wait until tomorrow afternoon when the wind dies down a little. Any advice for us first timers is appreciated.

I would leave now. It takes about 90 minutes from Nanaimo to Pender Harbour at 20kn. With it this flat, no problems at all.

I'd get going now Roger. Many times the wind seems strong in Nanaimo but a few miles away is fine. Follow them 22's!!

A good turnout, 15 boats if I can count this early in the AM. Fisherman's Marina is a very relaxing place, good fun dinner for pretty much everybody last night. All got across the Straits of Georgia with little trouble. Pender Harbour is as beautiful as we remember. Nice to have another Canadian gathering.

Daydream came up the mainland side of BC from Blaine Thursday, Strait of Georgia was like a duck pond. Spent Thursday night at the inner pool at Smuggler Cove, and were the only boat there! Baxter was pretty funny, there were a couple of kayakers on the little island enjoying the sunshine, and he ran over and made himself at home on their blanket - it looked for all the world like he had adopted them.

Baxter with His New Best Friends

All the boats are safely tucked into Fisherman's Resort Marina, one extra boat showed up too! Beautiful day yesterday, was supposed to be cloudy but turned out nothing but blue skies and sunshine. Nice dinner at the Pub a short walk away, a few adult beverages and conversation on the dock until WAY past my bedtime!

The repaired Navman fuel flow meter now is as good as new, great to have it back. The solar panels are doing their thing, and the Victron battery meter is very reassuring - the current draw on the ARB freezer is very low, ran it all night, SOC only dropped to 97% and consumed 6.7 amp hours.

Potluck is tonight, and then Sunday morning, quite a few of us will head to to Princess Louisa Inlet. Looking forward to getting back there!
