Hi Brats!
Valkyrie is finally in the driveway here in Ohio! We took possession of her on Thursday at Cutter, did sea trials with Gary, wrote one very large check for more than our first house cost years ago and then went cruising until yesterday.
Annapolis was way too crowded so we anchored out in a seculded cove in the South River. The next day headed over to St. Michaels, anchored out and explored town for the day and then found another quiet anchorage in Leeds Creek. Sunday we snaked through Kent Narrows at low tide, watched many big bigs go aground and then headed for Lankford Marina, two weeks late for the Gathering.
We got back to Cutter last night and had service done today and headed back home. The boat towed very well behind the F150 Supercrew with 5.4 and backing down the driveway was no problem at all.
Also, while cruising the Bay we spotted an unidentified CD 22 heading into the Southern River, Anne B headed back to Lankford and Tom McHugh on Sally's Sister leaving Middle River.
We also garnered lots of "What a cute boat!" comments both on the water and road. We love it!
We now have some pix to put in our album. Are there directions anywhere on the site about how to do this?
Best regards,
Nick and Marcia

Nick and Marcia --
Welcome home with the new "kid." Sure glad that the check-out cruise worked out well for you folks. Enjoyed seeing and visiting with you at Cutter before the cruise. We trust you have worked through the radar checkout -- sorry we missed you when you were out with Gary.
Where do you plan to cruise Valkyrie now that she's in 'home port'? Enjoy your new friend, folks - El and Bill _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)

El and Bill,
We enjoyed talking to you two also. Sorry we weren't there when you returned, but appreciate your efforts by coming back to help us deal with the radar. We struggled our way through it and finally were able to get it on and functioning enough to use it the last day!
The electronics guys came down to Cutter Tuesday AM with the interface cable for the Garmin 198C. Unfortunately, the GPS wasn't sending waypoint data to the Furuno, so the waypoints didn't show on the radar screen. Probably not a big deal for us because we want it as a non-integrated system for redundancy if the GPS goes down.
Cruise plans: Lake Erie for about a week in August, two weeks to Beaufort, SC in September and a month in the Keys and SW coast of FL in March/April timeframe. Probably some day/fishing trips to Erie throughout the next few months.
Keep in touch. Also, I'll go through the atlas sometime in the next few days and and email you info about those high mountain trout lakes in Wyoming that we mentioned.
Let us know when your coming through Ohio and you have a place to spend the night.
Best regards,
Nick and Marcia

Glad that most of the radar functions are working -- hopefully the waypoint transfer will be resolved.
Your cruising plans sound great. Maybe, in August, you might want to head to the Ontario canals and do some tandem cruising.
We look forward to a visit in Ohio on our return from Wyoming in late July-early August, unless that's when you are on your safari. E&B |

Nick and Marcia,
Congratulations on your new boat! Sounds like you've already had a good cruise in her and are enjoying the 'getting to know you' phase. We wish you many happy and carefree boating days.
