My wife and I picked up our Marinaut this weekend from Les. Thought I would share a few pictures of the boat. We are very excited to begin this new adventure in our lives and meet some of the people on this site.

Real pretty color combination between the hull color's gray (it is gray correct?) and blue camperback.

Darn nice looking boat! Hope you enjoy it safely.

Take care,

Thank you for posting your picture of your new Marinaut. I notice that the bilge pump is where it belongs. When you stop to refuel, you will have a hard time leaving the pumps as many people will want to look at it. A happy problem of sorts. Good luck on your boating.

That does look really nice! Congrats and good choice going with a small/light auxiliary!

Don't let "winter" keep you from heading out on the water for some fun.

Very nice! Congratulations!

I'm a sucker for a grey boat - just love the way they look. This photo shows off the topsides stripe. I like the way it adds "depth" to the hull.

I've been thinking about going to a Honda 2.3 for an auxilliary myself. (Would be nice to lose 80# from the starboard stern, and I don't fish, etc. with it.) Haven't decided yet, so still have the Honda 8D that came with the boat. And the Honda 115... drool!

I don't care what anybody says - that right there is one nice looking boat. The blue canvas color works remarkably well with the gray hull, and color of the Hondas blends in beautifully.

You'll definitely need to be prepared to spend a bunch of time talking about your new acquisition with total strangers - it's going to attract some serious attention, for sure. Thumbs Up

Just out of interest, did you get an extendable tiller handle for the small kicker? Also, if I'm correct, that's a kicker where reverse is accomplished by spinning the engine correct?

I echo the comments above. Beautiful boat with great sea keeping ability.
My one question is: did you go with the Venture aluminum or the EZ loader galvanized trailer? Your boat is pictured on each.

I'll be interested to hear about that too, since, as I mentioned above, I'm considering a similar "spare" engine.

I found recently that I could lock my kicker in place straight ahead and steer with the main as a rudder, but that's with my Honda 8. Maybe it would not work the same with the 2 (but I'm sure you have a plan). Anyway, curious to hear about it.

Thanks for all the comments. The venture trailer was just used to take the boat up to get the canvas installed, mine wasn't in yet. The Honda 2.3 does just spin around for reverse. In the next couple of weeks I will be testing out the kicker. It is a bit of a reach when the kicker is lowered in the water. One nice thing about it being air cooled is that you can start it before you lower the bracket which will help a little. I don't have an extension handle as of now, after a few uses it will be apparent if I need one. The motor is mainly for the dinghy and to help me get to safety if I need it. I was nervous on deciding to go with the 2.3 kicker, so I had Les install the same bracket he uses for the 9.9 in case I change my mind later down the road.

Michael,

She is a beautiful boat with an equally beautiful name. I hope you enjoy her for many years. The color scheme -- or should I say monochromatic scheme, really pops! It looks sharp and sophisticated. (no mistaking your boat for a Ranger Tug.) That radar arch looks great, too, as it does on the Irish Queen. I wish we could have gotten that arch, but it can't fit in our boat valet berth.

There is one thing that has me curious: your Honda 2 HP kicker. Is it your intent to store that engine on the bracket, and use it to power a dinghy you store on the roof, which also serves the dual usage of low power emergency propulsion?

Rich
