I laughed and laughed reading your post. It sure is true. In other posts I've mentioned the countless hours spent looking at the work and ideas others have put into their C-Dory's. Planning, scheming, dreaming. Now I finally have my little 16. How can I fit this here, where do I put that. It makes me laugh when I plan on putting just about everything you mentioned (ok, no wallas, no radar) on the little boat. One would think that I am outfitting a motorhome. I have to remember that the 16 has a 700 lb max. The trick is to get all this stuff look like it really belongs there. I also identify with having backup gear, you never know...one of tough things for me is not settling for cheap gear. Gotta get the best, so search the internet for the best price for hours and hours. I easily get obsessed. My 1st mate probably thinks I'm crazy, but she just smiles. Lets see, what size of home theater set up will work in the V-berth...hmmm.

Without question, these boats are addictive. I guess once we commit, our imagination runs wild and we start painting the canvas. Shucks, consider all those extra things that go into these boats as just more dogone paint. Maybe a mite spendier than the average gallon of
Behr Premium, but also a bit more versatile and utimately far more satisfying. _________________ Mark on Mighty Bite |
