|
|
This really is C-Dory related. If I don't find an engineer, my barn won't get built, and I won't have anywhere to park my boat...
I'm in a bind...we've had to redraw our barn plans, but the engineer who did the calcs on our original plan is not responding. We were referred to this guy by the folks who sold us our original plans - I've no idea how to find someone else.
Our contractor is ready to go once he has the new plans in hand, so we're starting to get a little nervous - don't want to lose him to another project, he's a good guy.
Given the large number of folks here from Washington, I'm guessing somebody might know a licensed engineer that can do some calcs and provide a few very simple engineered drawings, or at least point me in the right direction.
Little help...pretty please??? _________________

Given the wind and seismic load requirements, an engineer needs to stamp the plans.
Trouble is, my designer is in CA - if I were building here, no problemo - he's dealt with plenty of engineers in San Diego. In fact, both my Dad and brother are licensed CA civil engineers, but WA won't take a CA engineer's stamp... |

Hi Bill,
If you haven't heard from anyone else on this subject by Monday, you might try contacting JONES ENGINEERS of Bellingham (Whatcom County). Perhaps they'd have an address book that will have someone listed for your area of Washington state? JONES can be reached at 1-360-733-8888. JONES probably won't remember us as we used them back in 1997-1998 when we needed engineering for the eleven foot concrete walls in the garage. It was a pleasure dealing with them.

Thanks Ruth and Joe!
Doesn't really matter where in WA they are, in fact the last guy I used was in OR (he was licensed in CA, OR and WA.) I'l either be emailing CAD drawings or mailing hard copies of the plans, no need for them to be out in Clallam County.
I'll give them a ring on Monday, thanks again.

Bill,
Another option would be Lori Brown with Evergreen Design Company in Brier WA. Phone 425-771-7602, fax 425-744-5602. She did some structural engineering related to a remodel in our house. Young, fast, efficient - won't have any problems with CAD files, etc. Didn't cost us too much $'s either.

And if none of those work out, call Perteet Engineering in Everett... _________________
