An off topic question for you Alaskan members:
There has been an e-mail circulating here in NJ about a 14 foot long, 12' at the shoulders, 1,600 lb grizzly shot by a Forest Service employee with 2 clips from a 7mm magnum rifle. The bear is reportedly the largest ever recorded. Photos I received included that of a camper who shot the bear 4 times with a .38 before being killed by the bear. Is all this for real or am I being scammed? I will not forward any photos unless I see a reference in an Alaskan newspaper or other reliabe source, and only to those members who request same, off-line. JJ |

TNX for posting that, though I went sick when I saw the "human remains" reminds me why I always have "bertha" (45/70 loaded to the max) along with me out there. That place is in my waters in the PW" Sound. (Hinchinbrook Island) eastern PW' Sound. |
