I am interested in something I could adhere to the hull just below the rub rail to protect against damage when retrieving the anchor. Has anyone tried the following?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ScuffBuster-Stainless-Steel-BOW-GUARD-XL-KeelGuard-/310652997889

If so, I am wondering how it fit and worked? I would also consider some sort of black rubber product instead of stainless? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rob

I had this product in rectangular shape on the bow for several years, for the reason you mention. It worked fine but I took it off because it scuffed the roller on my trailer bow support and...the anchor never hit it. You can have it for just shipping cost. You'd have to put new adhesive on the back to make it hold. PM me.

Barry,

I am interested in one that would butt up against the lower edge of the rub rail. I think that is why the link I posted shows angles at the top rather than a rectangle. If yours is rectangular, I don't think it could be mounted as high on the bow as I am looking for. Would you happen to have a picture of it on your boat? I checked your album but could not find one.

Thanks,

Rob

Why not give your trawler-like C-Dory a tug boat appearance by securing cut black rubber tire halves over the gunwales and down the hull some from about 10 to 2 o'clock off the bow (aka "puddin's")?

Aye.
