We are back home, after a wonderful weekend--the kind that you wish would never stop. What a great bunch of boaters. Some new folks who are going to make great C brats. Some folks who just bought their boat the day the gathering started, and lots of wonderful old friends.

The weather was perfect--enough chill in the air that the "camper" group had to run heaters in the AM and just before bed--heard rumors that some of the boating group also had to use a little heat.

Many of the boats came up to RiverCrest, and hit what ever stump was in the center of the channel at the turn, Then there was the "Lake RiverCrest monster" which rose out of the water just in front of "Falcon" as they came up the channel on Saturday afternoon.

The food--well, I think that of all the gatherings this is the culinary delight.
Marc, Ron (General Manager of Wefings) and Danny whipped up mighty delicious meals. Friday night was Marc's famous smoked/barbecued chicken with secret spices, some mighty fine pork. I cannot leave out the oysters--even with all of the problems of Apalachicola Bay's Oyster harvest Marc knew the people who spent a full day getting bags of the biggest most succulent fresh Oysters you can imagine, just for us! Fresh jumbo shrimp, all the beer and wine you could imagine and a great salad and. Saturday Morning was Marc's famous omelets, complete with oysters and anything you wanted! Saturday dinner was the traditional roast suckling pig cooked in the box--as always perfectly done--again with the right spices and herbs! Cheese Grits, with condiments, and a low country broil, rounded out the menu. There were campfires after dinner, and of course on Saturday night the music--Marc played the base, with the Mandolin, guitar, steel guitar talent, along with the singing rounding a perfect day. Sunday Breakfast was around the pool at the WaterFront Inn--complete with Lox and Bagels, sweet rolls and fruit. In case you think I am the cheerleader for Wefings, I am just sharing what I think is one of the stellar gatherings--and hope to see more of you there next year. Marc's delightful wife, Anita who is the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of commerce took time out from her preparations for the Sea Food festival next weekend to hustle around helping with all of the details.

Not sure who came the furthest distance, but we had folks from several NE states, Canada, and S. Dakota. What a great bunch of C Brats.

TyBoo--thanks for the album, I'll get some of the photos up in the next day or so.

There isn't much one can add after Thataway Bob made the earlier post.

All I can say is that it has been a wonderful weekend and a very LARGE thank you to Marc and his crew. We met many new people and since we are at the age where remembering becomes a problem, we probably won't remember most of them but we will always remember the friendship extended to us.

Thank you Marc, his crew and all the C-Brats.

Thanks for the glowing description Bob , we had a wonderful time as always ! BTW the longest distance Brat was Jason who came all the way from Montreal Ca. to pick up his 22 Cruiser !
At the suggestion of Rusty from St Pete , we will order some new Gulf Coast gathering sweatshirts like a few of us were sporting on the chilly mornings [BTW ,chilly is under 70 Deg] .
Ill announce their arrival .

I am looking forward to seeing more pictures as everybody gets back and in front of the computer.

Thanks to all that attended and we will do it all again next year !
