Read this and it was the first time I've heard this benefit in our outboard. Can someone w/ electrical smarts explain how this would work. Would I have to have my battery switch to "both", in order to take advantage of this?
Quote: | Both motors also come with a standard battery-isolator system. You can drain down your boat's house battery by powering trolling motors, electronics or livewell pumps while still maintaining a fully charged cranking battery. When you start the motor, the system senses the low charge in the house battery and quickly brings it up to full charge. |

It sounds like an automatic charging relay (ACR) comes standard with the motor. |

There is an optional second charge output on the motor, although I don't think we've ever utilized it as the output isn't very great. _________________ Matt Gurnsey

I believe that all of the Suzuki 150 and 175 have that second output. My understanding is that is is a diode type of isolator. I do not know the capacity, but I thought it was more than a trickle charge.
You can charge both batteries at once. One is the battery connected to the "start" circuit. There is a connector (white I believe) under the cowl for the second charging circuit. The PDF brochure for the 150/175 shows that there are two regulators in the circuit--thus I suspect that the second circuit is possible of the full 44 amp output. _________________ Bob Austin
